everytime lemieux got hit with a solid shot from rosado, he seemed to freeze or wobble a little. if that was golovkin he would have gone down.

question now is, can ggg take lemieux's shot??

Lemieux had improved more than I expected but I just can't see his way past the GGG jab. Lemieux showed some decent speed and power, but I see GGG just controlling him.

David also clearly wasn't fond of getting hit by Rosado or (like most offensive fighters) being on the back foot, but I just can't see how he applies the pressure without a jab of his own to speak of.

I think that once Golovkin establishes control within the first round or two, Lemieux has a real hard time of it, getting picked off each and every time he tries to mount an offensive.

At best David has a punchers chance, not so different to Stevens, though after last nights' performance I'd judge he perhaps has a slightly better chance than Curtis of getting that power through.

    Golovkin

I like Lemieux, but he will face a guy with better power, better defense, better boxing ability and better chin.
Lemieux also doesnt seems to like being on the backfoot.
Unfortunately for him, he will be in this fight.
    No one trades with Golovkin.

Dont see how he wins this one.

I could reflexively say Lemieux would win by KO because I'm not the biggest GGG fan, but in reality Lemieux doesn't have a chance, that was his first big win as a pro, and while Rosado is an impressive scalp, he needs a hell of a lot more experience, I'm a huge Lemieux fan, and he's improved greatly, as I knew he had, but he's still flawed, he needs 3 or 4 matches at the top level before he's even remotely ready for GGG.

Maybe a fight with N'dam or Geale, who are decent enough boxers to give him troubles and he can elevate his game by fighting slightly more complex fighters.
Lemieux may have a slight chance if he sells out and goes for broke in the first 2 or 3 rounds and throws everything he has at GGG, but that's the only way he could possibly win.

It depends on when they fight?
Lemieux has improved --- mostly on conditioning, stamina mixing up his power punches.
I think that he actually hits harder than GGG.
    Yet he has some short comings{
--- needs a better jab although he was using multiple jabs to close the distance which was good,
--- punches in bunches whereas he doesnt load up on everypunch (maybe the 1st and last),
    --- controlling his distance,
--- when he is inside to shorten up his punches and better positioning,
--- and better basics - block, parry, catch, roll, slip and counter right away.
And thats all the stuff that GGG is real good at.
So --- he is not ready now.

This fight would be easy work for GGG.

This is quite an insult to one of the ATGs in the amateurs. Lemiuex does not resemble GGG in any way. They are just labeled the same - punchers.

You mean Lemieux loads up in every power punch and swings wildly. Yep, then his punches do seem more powerful - you'll get the same impression when a person swings a baseball bat left and right.

And yes, you never saw GGG swinging wildly enough to get off-balance. This is the difference in class not on favor of the Canadian. But people mistakenly get impression Lemieax hits harder.

Although I agree with most of what you are saying, Lemieux did connect and wobbled Rosado with a counter while Lemieux was off balance. Lemieux hits hard and I think he has more power than GGG. But again I agree that GGG is never off balance when throwing and that he is class above Lemieux, boxing skills wise.

Rosado was able to walk down Lemieux at times though never really hurt him. GGG should do the job in 6 rounds.

I agree whereas GGG's punches are better.
Nevertheless, Lemiuex hits harder. Not all of his punches are wild.
He is very strong and heavy handed.
The big wide punches expend too much energy.
If he shortens them up they would have even more impact and more efficient.
Lemieux definately has things to work on.

Rosado would have won if his eye held up and Golovkin has better defense than Rosado and a hell of a lot more power. Lemieux has power, but the guy has terrible defense, below average accuracy and speed, and he can't take a punch to save his life.
