I agree. But I don't think his handlers would risk it after what happened the other night. The risk far outweighs the reward.

 

Canelo simply cannot hang back and pick off a guy like Lemieux for 12 rounds. His feather fists certainly will not stop him in his tracks.

It would look exactly like Broner vs Maidana only with Canelo flat on his back-piece some where around the 6th round.

Yeah, I favour Canelo too. Still a good fight though, Lemiuex has a chance for sure.

 

Rubio is a tough guy. At the time of that fight he was better than a C-fighter for sure. Never elite, but a solid tough brawler who gave a lot of guys hell.

Don't rate him off the GGG fight he took as a payday and came in overweight for. Don't forget too that Lemiuex threw his load at Rubio thinking he'd be an easy out and Rubio took it all then came back.

That said, Canelo is bigger, stronger and WAY more talent than Rubio by at least 2 levels.

Easy work for Canelo. Lemiuex was getting rocked by Stevens before landing that perfect hook.

 

Khan had no issues dusting Canelo with feathers for 6 round. Now imagine that was Lemieux in there instead of Khan
