Canelo is for the casuals. The same people who think he can beat Lemmie think he can beat Golovkin :meparto:

Based off of what? He's never been down against any heavy hitters that he's faced so far and his chin is A-grade. Lemieux will get touched up by counters as Lemieux tries to pressure.. I see Canelo stopping him with a liver shot around the 10th.

Based off the fact that he is a midget and is not a power puncher even at 155 he will be feather fisted at 160 and he hasn't dared to step in the ring with someone who has power like Lemieux has. This is a totally different ballgame. Due to Canelo's height and reach he isn't going to be an effective counter puncher at 160. His opponents are simply just going to be bigger than him. It matters.

I think canelo wins... but I say Lemieux makes him earn it and even hurts him. that guy packs some serious power and canelo isn't excaulty a fast mover hes there to be hit. imagine Lemieux hitting him with some of the same shots liam smith did on the ropes and stuff. defiantly not a easy fight for canelo like you think.

Which is hilarious since Canelo isn't a slickster he isn't fast and he is mostly flat footed. He is going to get drilled at 160. He holds no advantages over Lemieux or GGG other than Oscar's crooked judges. That is it. He has judges that will score a 10-2 or 11-1 round fight a Draw.

If it happens I'd do a ban bet with you... Canelo will beat him fair and square.

Well, to me Canelo looks big enough to fight at MW, decent enough power, and pretty good skills. One still can have some idea of his ability despite not fighting a legit MW, obviously it's far from a perfect assessment, but it's something.

I'd probably cheer Lemiuex if the fight was made, always liked the guy, so I certainly don't mind hearing your case for a Lemiuex win.

Crude caveman Maidana gave Floyd 12 rounds of living hell in their first encounter, only losing a razor-close decision to him in Floyd's backyard where everything was stacked against him (7 or the 8 officials appointed for their two encounters were from the US, the lone non American official (a judge) came from a neutral country).

That same crude caveman Maidana was shutout 10-0 by Devon Alexander and that was a Maidana who was wearing his perfectly legal commission approved puncher's gloves too.

Maidana also lost to Kotelnik and Khan and only managed to scrape by a shot to ribbons 5000 year old in ring years Erik Morales on a MD. And what's more that emaciated shot to bits shell of Morales was literally fighting blind in one eye from the end of the second round onward IIRC, because a huge grotesque golf ball sized swelling had flared up and clamped it shut. Had Morales had two eyes he would've whooped Maidana's gaucho ass something rotten.

Maidana also struggled against Josesito Lopez and Soto Karrass, too. Lopez hurt Maidana badly and was ahead on 2 of the judges cards at the finish (even on the third judge's one) and Soto Karrass gave him everything he could handle prior to getting stopped.

And Jose Luis Castillo who beat Floyd in their first fight in many people's eyes had been stopped four times going into that fight and all of those guys who stopped him had been bested by tomato cans or journeymen (either on points or via stoppage) with records like this prior to facing him too.

    8-13-1
    35-19-2
    0-1-0
    11-4-0
    14-9-1
    45-22-0
    0-0-0
    32-10-2

I don't recall Rubio or Alcine losing to fighters with records like that.

That's what Serge is talkin' about. Real talk.

Lemiuex is 1/2" taller and has 1/2" smaller reach than Canelo.

Canelo drained himself fierce to hit 147, and still drains a lot to hit 154. If Canelo is a midget, than Lemiuex is too.

Canelo would carry 160 just fine. There's a reason he looked better at 155 catchweights than he did even at 154. He was 20 when he last fought at 147. At 26 he's naturally bigger and can't cut the weight like he once did.

I don't think he has as much power now, but he's a better boxer than he was when he fought Floyd.. and better after arguably losing against Lara.

He's a far better boxer than Lemieux... and hasn't shown to be chinny at all.. and Lemieux has.

Why is Rubio being shitted on, he was one of those guys that took losses, but he had period where he put it all together and went on a strong run. So ok, we know Lemieux is beatable, we know the same about Canelo, and we've yet to see him in with a legit puncher. So yea, it's a good fight with a slight edge to Canelo. But that's far from a foregone conclusion, and Lemieux has a great chance to hurt Canelo early and change the fight dramatically. Hell, Kirkland caught him with a couple big shots that rocked Canelo in his boots.

Canelo can only stop him late after wearing him down. Canelo is a good boxer not great. His punches early on wont slow DL down a good jab could help though.

He's been down twice and once was to the body. vs rubio has was gassed and took about 30 flush shots in a row. not exactly chinny. but he has actual flaws that you didnt address.
