Lennox-"At this point Vitali is untouchable"

Because I do not see things as the rest of his nuthuggers, I am hating?

I gave him props when he performed really well and beat Adamek. I said it before it was his best performance.

I give him and his brother props for dominating the division.

I give him props for putting up a good fight against LL

But, He lost the fight to LL because LL fist did enough damage to stop the fight . . . what id wrong with that statement?

He quit against Byrd with a "sever shoulder injury", an "injury" that he had no signs of during that fight or even after that fight . . . I am a skeptic, so what. People where skeptical about Solis injury even though he went down with a glazing blow at best. Even if he had an injury, he was fighting for a title others fighters have fought with the same injury and not only won but KOed the other guy.

I respect the guy and everything that he has done, but I really cannot see how his fanatics blow it out of proportion . . . he lost . . . he lost . . . so what? pick up the pieces and move on . . . stop crying about what might have been . . . he blew his shot!

 

Good post. I'm constantly branded as a Klitschko fan but I'm just as much of a Lewis fan, Joe Louis fan, Ali fan, etc. I primarily watch Heavyweights but I'll watch 2 bums fight over the last beer, a fight is a fight.

Anyone that doesn't believe the Klitschkos & Lewis are all time greats is fooling themselves.

 

The bolded part is where you lost me. Vitali had a shoulder injury, a torn rotator cuff, which required surgery. It's well documented if you'd like sources. Why else would he have "quit" anyway? It surely wasn't Byrd's amazing power...................

I see the bros as very good (board-line great) fighters in a crap era. Yes, I know it is not their fault. H2H the would be a tough out no doubt, but I think several champs and none champs could and would beat them.

when you say stuff like vitali quit for no reason then ur a hater..why would he quit if he wasnt injured??..ur a hater and ino u r ive seen ur posts before...lennox won the fight ino he did..dosnt dispute the fact he retired because he didnt want to rematch vitali...it also says alot about vitali that he took the fight at such short notice and the fact he had it all against him...do you know how hard it is for a boxer to win a fight at short notice when the other boxer is the undisputed hw champion and its his team thats promoting the fight...get real

I still find it suspect, anyone can say they had surgery after the fact and get people to say and do what they want to go along with it. the truth is that fight against was his first big shot and other heavyweight boxers have fought with one arm for a lot less. I have also seen boxers who where confused and mentally broken down pull a "NO MAS" . . . a certain p4p great made that phase famous! So if the injury was legit he should have fought on. I saw absolutely no signs of an injury during the fight or post fight . . . its what I saw.

Lennox has always said he retired for other reasons and a rematch did not factor into his decision. What you are implying is that Lennox agreed that the reason he retired was because of the rematch . . . only one boxer I can recall has ever said that and that was MMH and his desire for a rematch against SRL and when that didnt not happen he walked away for good.

VK was going to be on the big stage again with hopes of a future title shot and to erase the memory of his quitting on the stool. He was in great shape, both mentally and physically . . . as I hear from you guys the bros are allows in shape and the top of their game when they are getting ready for a match . . . LL was not the most disciplined fighter and especially towards the end and would only do what he thought what was need to do in the gym. to be honest LL would have not fought him if he did not think he as not that good on short notice. LL was ready to retire, did not take Johnson seriously or Big V seriously so he trained to what he thought was needed.

VK took the fight knowing even if he lost and kept it respectable he would be inline to have a run at the title. Personally, at the time I thought he (like Johnson . . . who is from my hometown) should have waited until LL called it quit which was the talk going into that fight. But in defeat Big V got something he needed more than the belt . . . respect. If he would have went on and lost on points or won close on points and a motivated LL came back and beat him. People would have said he beat an unmotivated and out of shape LL and lost when LL had fire in his belly. He would have been a footnote in history on par with McCall and Rahman. I guess his fans should count their blessings because the end result actually worked out better for him in the long run!

 

SO you now admit he beat Big V (when LL was ready to retire)!

 

For a fighter who's plan all along was to call it quits . . . it was impressive that he stop a young hungry challenger . . . when you can do that to someones face it is amazing . . . he beat him so bad his mom could not recognize him. Everyone felt snookered by the LL/Tyson fight . . . and had no interest in this fight or the rematch! The only ones who wanted a rematch at first where Big V fans . . . later on people realized that the heavyweight boxing landscape looked so bleak that they where clamouring to see a rematch. My dad who never missed a fight as long as lived did not even watch the first fight . . . and dad watched some **** fights . . . several times!
