Since this is the Frazier of '71 , Lewis will have troubles. Frazier by late stoppage.

Lewis shows Frazier nothing he hasn't seen before. Joe may have some anxious moments but Lennox gasses late. Frazier TKO 10.

When did Lewis ever gass in a fight?? :think

Checkout his stamina against Mavrovic, Holyfield twice, Mercer, Tucker, Billups And Tua.

I've been known for my great stamina against the heavy bag.

Tucker was way past his best. Holyfield was past his best. Didn't see the "Billups" fight. Tua was fat and past his best. The other two however, Mavrovic and Mercer...yes, good showings. I would have to go back and look to see how many body-shots were landed however. To many of the Big Boys forget that body-shots can be vital, especially as Teddy Atlas likes to point out, "Insurance" for later in the fight.

Hopefully you are not serious. But if I were to take a guess ;); it's easy to seem like you have great stamina when you are setting the pace and are in complete control of the opponent and the opponent isn't able to apply pressure back which takes more stamina out of you since you are getting hit in return. So your hitting on top of being hit yourself = a lot easier to be worn out because it takes more energy. Heavy-Bags don't throw body-shots. Plus remember, if you are under pressure it can elevate your blood-pressure which can burn you out quicker. You need to stay relaxed. It's easier to do that when you are in complete control. It's harder to stay relaxed when a mean MFer is trying to kill you.

or in other words, as Bruce Lee once said, "Boards don't hit back." :D

Well Mavrovic And Mercer did not really body-punch against Lennox.
BUT - that could be cos of Lewis's great defense.

TBH I was kind of joking, but I say Lewis should be given a lot of credit cos it was his skills that stopped them putting pressure on him.

Lewis is just too big for Frazier, and at this point, Lewis was too good at holding and using his size to wear opponents down. Lewis or Frazier early, fight definitely ends in a KO, longer it goes the more Lewis is favored. If I had to pick it would be Lewis by third round KO

Good post. I think teh same tactics of holding + wearing small opponent down work for Lewis vs tyson too.
BUT - do you really think Frazier can KO Lewis early? Frazier is a very slow starter.

Lennox Lewis could be knocked out. He was knocked out twice. If Frazier lands a clean lefthook Lewis could be knocked out, yes.

He looked pretty tired against Briggs after a few rounds...

:patsch Tyson was Shot. It wasn't going to be to hard to wear him down. I'm not saying it didn't help to wear him down quicker but at that point Tyson's stamina was absolute crap.

However, as far as the tactic, yes, it can work to his advantage.
