IMO, in both cases, he should have been allowed to keep fighting and in the 1980's he'd probably still be allowed to fight. Normally I agree with stopping a fight before a guy gets beat up too bad. But when a guy gets a single punch and is otherwise winning the fight that puts him down and he is on his feet before 10, he should be allowed to fight in a championship match. I saw Larry Holmes get flattened by ernie shavers, and with today's ref, they'd have stopped the fight. You cannot seriously expect a guy to have no wobbleliness when getting up.
He did, but Lewis was up on his feet, if Rahman knocked him out again, well so be it. If you are on your feet you should be allowed to continue, if your getting beaten, the ref can stop the fight. Its not up to the ref to pick the winner.
I just finished watching in the mccall fight he had both his fist up and in the rachman fight he was up on his feet.
I agree on the McCall fight. He was up with time to spare and responding just fine to the ref. One of the more inexplicable stoppages imo. I'm not a Lewis fan but I think Lewis could have definitely come back to outpoint McCall.
I'm growing weary of this nonsense. Lewis was counted out watch the damn video at 3:54. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inehc0s0rDs[/ame]
Rahman I. Lewis was under a lot of factors I am not at liberty to disclose on a forum, But trust me it's not a legit win for Rahman. Mccall I was very very very debatable. Let's remember this.. Olivier Mccall was never the greatest of finishers and he had mental issues and lapses. There was a good chance Lennox could have just clinched his way out of that mess and UDED Mccall. Lewis ain't knock out Mccall though. Nobody in the history of boxing can KO Mccall. But even HBO crew was complaining that the stoppage was a bit fast.
Haha ur a ****... wats the matter little man beat up the big man bless u... Ko5 dick head deal with it.. Btw love the bit where u say ur not at liberty to discuesss on this forum... haha class A ****
