    The only two fighters he did actually take money to not fight are Tyson in 96 and Byrd later on. Id say he means Byrd.

    He was quite vocal at the time telling everyone why he had no interest because a "lion eats a bird" he made too much of a big deal out of finding a reason not to fight him. Regardless of whether he said it he did avoid Byrd.
