I'd say in the op 10 or just outside of it. Very solid fighter and truly one of the best HW's of all time but I don't think he's in the top 5...
Anyone voting for Lennox in the top 2 is a fool A case can be made for him at 3 but I don't buy it. Marciano deserves the number 3 spot. I voted for 4-6.
Come the **** off it Luke, you can't see why someone would even have him in their top 10? Name 11 heavyweights who should be ranked higher?
I already have, in the other "lewis atg ranking" thread. I'm not going to rehash the argument, but a lot of people got mad I had foreman/holyfield/frazier above him among others. Don't matter to me none. I don't rate people by wins they were supposed to have. (Oh yeah, and I hate lewis for not rematching his loss to vitali)
Glad you posted that link. However it pisses me off when people are rude on the internet just because they will never have to see the other person face to face. Be polite, there is no harm in it. Anyway off the soapbox, I got Lewis at about 7 or 8.
He ranks as one of the last 5 HW xhamps of all time. A big, fat, slow and therefore predictable fighter. Fought in a weak era and even ducked the few great fighters that were available (prime Tyson, prime Tucker, prime Tua). Notice how he only fought these big names after they became fat cocaine addicts.
surprised to see 5 people putting him at #1. Majority has him 4-10 as of now. with most at 4-6. Not a bad spread
Ali, Frazier, Tyson, Foreman, Marciano. There's 5, explanation not necessary. **** all this "oh well if they were fighting today they wouldn't technically be heavyweights". Bull****, they'll forever go down as heavyweights, but they have better records and did more for boxing.
