Lewis's jab has a few flaws...most is counter hook punches BC the outer hand position....you also generate less power BC his snap doesnt have as much chamber in it from the snapping point. That said Wilder holds his lead jab low and isn't as defensive savvy thinking about what's coming back at him . What's the better jab? Honestly the fighter makes how the jab is effective through IQ and style .I would personally take Wilders long range at the chin which is more also more defensive minded... Keep in mind Lewis was defensive minded and more ring savvy than Wilder so his version of the jab dictated fights more...he was more polished. Wilders jab IS better sound than Lewis....Lewis is the more calculated fighter.
It didn`t take LL 40 fights to step up his level of competition. Wilder still has no significant wins on his record.
Very much like Mike Tyson in the first two years of his professional career. Bill Cayton and Jim Jacobs went all-out to present him as a clean-cut and charming role model, for the purpose of attracting media attention and endorsements; but in reality, Tyson wanted the free-reign to behave like his heroes -- guys like Roberto Duran, Jack Johnson, Mickey Walker and Jim Brown. Tyson said of this in his book, "Cayton and Jacobs wanted me to be friendly with everybody, sociable, but I knew a man who was friendly with everyone was an enemy to himself." He believed -- correctly -- that to be anything less than his true self was to sell out himself and his principles.
Quite apt, considering Lennox was generally half-arsed in claiming to be British. As has been stated here already, it was an afterthought for him: a tool which he willingly exploited to market himself to fans in the U.K as the next Heavyweight hope.
