That was Lennox's second reign. He got the WBC belt awarded after the Bowe trashcan debacle, making W12 Tucker his first titlefight.
Lennox was a well-rounded boxer with multiple tools in his toolbox and a very impressive resume from a much tougher era. Wilder is a one trick pony with a cherry-picked resume in a forgettable era. Sure, it is impressive that that one trick took him as far as it did, but ultimately Fury showed the world that Deontay is one dimensional and that his one weapon isn't quite enough when up against a legit challenge.
Why is it that when I see Lewis, billed as 6'5", standing near Wilder, billed as 6'7", and near Fury, billed as 6'9", he barely looks any shorter?
Wilder isn't a fraud. He's a modern day Earnie Shavers. Absolutely obscene power in his right, and not much else.
When Wilder and Lewis are both the same distance from the camera Wilder is clearly taller. There are scenes in this video where both look taller than the other depending on perspective. But when side by side Wilder is clearly taller.
there are eras in which Shavers would have had a long title reign. or at least won a belt. his two title shots were against Ali and Holmes. talk about rough luck.
Naw. He didn't have the skills, and since he doesn't have an Olympic medal, no one is going to rig things in his favor. He would be a one-shot titlists in some eras, but no this one. Usyk and Fury are too good.
i didn't say this era. i said "there are era in which". you seem to agree with me. this era, no way, I agree that Usyk and Fury would take him out. Especially Usyk.
