bowe:"razor ruddock was afraid of you.."

lewis:"im goin to knock you out.."

bowe:"you aint gonna knock nothin out, bomb..."

who was the short midget between the two fighters?

seriously, lennox would have KTFO bowe if they ever fought pro.

I dont know about that. Bowe was a very talented fighter, work ethic questionable. There were a couple of years where he was clearly the best Heavyweight around. And as you can see he is a big boy himself.

Id still favor Lewis. Ive always like teh guy. Classy dude, as with this interview, he managed to compose himself and give full credit to Bowe

Where's the need to debate this? Bowe had his chance and wanted nothing to do with it.
Lennox is right, Bowe was scared. Lennox calmly responded with "you know I'm going to knock you out". Didn't have to raise his voice. Lennox knew it and Bowe knew all he had was smoke to blow.

I have that on VHS, watch it all the time. I was a huge LL fan at the time and I remember being so excited when that whole thing happened.

    LL: "Bring it on man"
    RB: "you ansanuttinbuttawud"

Evander talking about retirement 16 years ago? Hilarious. That video just reminded me of how much of a warrior Holyfeild was. Clearly too small for HW at the time and he takes on huge guys like Foreman and Bowe and gives it his all.

    Lewis called it correctly.
He saw fear in Bowe's eyes and Bowe side-stepped him.

In the ammys both had very professional styles already. They weren't point fighters by any stretch. So, it's not like some that lose in the ammys because the guy they are fighting has a point based approach that works better in the amateurs. Neither Bowe or Lewis had that approach, so barring some huge leap in abilities on Bowe's part there wasn't much reason to doubt that Lewis would beat him again.

Also, Bowe knew he struggled with a smaller heavy in Holyfield. Bowe typically fought shorter guys, considering his 6'5 height. Sure, there were taller ones (jorge luis gonzalez) but none of those guys were even close to the skill of Lennox.

Bowe avoided Lewis like the plague. I always admired Lewis for willingly fighting Razor Ruddock, a guy he didn't have to fight. Bowe showed no class during that exchange.

For the short time that Bowe was actually peaking, I think it would have gone either way. Bowe was an excellent fighter! He had a weak brain though - literally - after a few wars his brain started going to mush. Couple that with his crappy work ethic, and his period of time that he would have been competitive with Lewis was short.

People shouldn't be so quick to discount Bowe, though. He had all the tools - great jab, excellent inside fighting, good power, good speed, and just plain tough.
