It don't matter if you are a Kbro Fan or a Lewis fan, they are top 5 h2h.

AT THE LOWEST , top 7.

They are just too big for the other 'atg's and too good for the other 'super heavys'.

You can say all you want about Prime Ali, Prime Tyson, Prime Joe Louis but the fact remain they have never fought 6'5-6'7 giants who also know how to box and who also know how to slug it out when needed (Lewis, Vitali).
Lewis and Wlad's chin is a issue, but ask yourselves this. When was the last time either one got knocked out by an opponent they took seriously and by an opponent they viewed as a threat?
The guys both Lewis and Wlad lost to were fighters they viewed as stepping stones on to greater things.

It is VERY refreshing to see the last 2 great champions of the elite flagship division (Lewis and Wlad) with such gentleman qualities and none of the thug ****** mentality guys like Broner display.
It is also VERY amusing to listen to baby ***** fan boys of the midget divisions claim that the 'HW Division' was not the flagship and hasn't been since 'Ali-Tyson' days.:lol:

:lol: Corrie Sanders was a beast. Vitali was lucky Corrie decided to spend his entire training camp on a golf course globbling down hamburgers and pizzas. He was also lucky Sanders was pushing 40.

Sanders was gonna knock Vitali the **** out, did you not see the fight? The first 2 rounds, Vitali was doing the Amir Khan 'YOU see me rollin you be hatin' routine. He was literally all over the place.

Sadly by round 3, the 40 year old Sander's fat under trained golfer body began to take effect and it was all over from there on out.

As for the Chris Byrd situation, that was suppose to be Vitali winning then going on to fight Lewis way back in 2000. Vitali lost, Lewis went with Grant instead. AT THE TIME, there was no way anyone thought Byrd was a bigger threat then Grant. Lewis actually took the perceived tougher challenge by far. In a way, Byrd saved Vitali because if Vitali fought Lewis in 2000, that would have been a KO 4.

Likely not. H2H, Lewis and Vitali match up very well at any point during either's career.

Lewis could perhaps outbox Vitali in 00, but he wouldnt KO him.....that is unless he was able to open a cut on him.

Like I said in a prior post, Vitali had the potential to be #2. Lewis will ALWAYS ranked ahead of him based soley on resume. But H2H, #1 and #2.:good

Lewis has an underrated chin, but if Vitali could barely take Sanders his shots in round 2, I'd feel bad for an old Lewis.
Unless Lewis keeps him away until Sanders gasses himself he can be in very big trouble.

Sanders seriously had potential, luckily for a lot of boxer he was a lazy guy who saw boxing as just a hobby.

Sanders can easily go h2h with most other heavyweights the first 1-2 rounds.

sanders himself said, that he hates to fight. that is why he tried to end his fights as quickly as possible.

he ducked byrd, because it is difficult to look good against him
he ducked sanders because it was to dangerous, fast southpaw puncher

lewis said in one of his interviews after his retirement, that he never wanted to fight a southpaw!

Explains why he never trained that hard.

I already knew Lewis didn't want to fight southpaws.
It's kind of understandable though, nobody has much experience with southpaws so they always have an edge there.

H2H is a paradox. Lewis, Wlad, Vitali etc would not be as good if they had lived in an earlier time, due to a few main reasons: Nutrition, scientific training methods, etc. If they had been born in the 30's, 40's, 50's etc they wouldn't have been as big and/or strong. Ali in 1964 was the tallest opponent Liston had faced: Liston himself was about 6'1 and was considered huge.

Also, they grew up studying the old fighters, watching tapes, learning from them, being inspired by them.

People take the Dempsey from the 1920's or the Louis from the 1940's and put them in with Lewis etc in the 1990's/2000's, its ridiculous because if Dempsey, Louis and co. were around in modern times, they would most likely be stronger, better trained etc. The sport, like all sports, has evolved. Why not put the modern fighters back in an old context? In 15+ rounders? That's why, while fun to talk about or whatever, little or no relevance should be placed on H2H when judging ATGness.

I think for the same reason, he hates to fight, so he barely trained hard.

thats right, but if you want to be GOAT you must fight everybody!

Who knows.. H2H they have a chance against anyone... But lets not forget, all three have lost to lesser fighters than the likes of Ali, Tyson, Holmes, Foreman ect...

No way, beating the man when he's at the end of his days is expected, and none of those names except maybe Valuev are better than the awful resume he has anyway. Vitali's myth is built on losing to a past-prime ATG even if he did perform well and there's nothing else in his career that puts him ahead of at least 20 other HWs, probably more.

The thread was going well and most people who are usually at each other's throats were being civil until this drivel.
You know fine well that those fights not happening mean nothing in the grand scheme. They have the same or less relevance as Vitali not fighting Haye or Rahman.
And for the record,I think K2 would match up quite well H2H.Nice to see a fairly civil thread on this subject for a change.
