2 of the most luckiest heavyweights of the past 10 yrs. But sad part about it is, there probably haven't fought any good heavyweights until they fought each other.(which produced a competitive fight, that Klitskcho was winning) From what I can see they've both been at the right place and the right time, with the right opponents in their careers and is why they look so much better than their opponents. Lennox Lewis probably worst, since he's struggled and has been stopped by limited opposistion. Maybe David Haye(who's not even a natural heavyweight) can answer these questions if he fights klitskcho and if he can't than maybe and this is a maybe, James Toney(and in shape toney that is) can answer some questions, and if neither can, than will have to take it for what it is, until some real good havyweights come on the horizon, which probably won't be for a long while.

Vitali needs to let this go. Lewis has nothing to prove at this point in life.
Vitali wasting his energy should look to unify titles.

I agreed with much of this until you mentioned James Toney

Well, he's the only decent heavyweight(who's not even a natural one) we can talk about right now, if were not mentioning David Haye.(who's also not even a natural heavyweight)

    Sad, but true:

Even a 70% Lewis ist nearer on Vitali than any other fighter in this division.

Nobody in the division can beat Vitali, maybe Haye can make his way to a future star, but he has to defeat someone first.

what needs to happen in the sport is that guys like arreola, gomez, haye and thompson instead of fading out or being completely ostracized after one defeat instead all stick around and fought each other instead of warm-up tomato cans before returning to challenge for the title again so we can have better perspective on what exactly is going on.
what was so great about mid 80's to mid 90's was that all the guys on top (tyson, holyfield, lewis) all fought each other and various common opponents along the way which gave us a base of comparison. who did peter and klitschko have in common? nobody.
at least with wlad - povetkin we have wlad fighting a guy who not only beat chris byrd but also the man who beat brock. it's not much but it's a start in the right direction towards healing the division.

I don't see how Lewis was lucky...except for maybe fighting an old Mike Tyson. I think both of Lewis's losses, especially against Rahman were due primarliy to over-confidence and he avenged both those losses by KO. You're thread lost what little sense it was making when you threw Toney's name in there....an obese 40 year old middleweight, whose 5'9.
