Golota was favored to win that fight. I think what happened was Andrew received an injection for pain in his knee. It made him lethargic and nervous. He showed up to the arena at 10:30. In an earlier interview Andrew said he knew he could win. He came into the ring tense and stiff. The rest is history. I'm sure the haters love watching. Enjoy...
I hope the IDIOT who gave him an injection that woud make him "lethargic" right before he goes into the ring with ATG Lennox Lewis was shot in the face. As for an injection that would make him "nervous". What the ****? And he may have been favoured wherever you are, but in the UK we knew better.
Truth is, despite all the excuses made for Golata, he never would have beaten Lewis in a lifetime of Sundays.
I heard Golota was shitting himself before the fight, and almost didn't enter the ring out of pure fear. Very strange bloke.
He may have been favoured by some - a bit stupid really since they were basing that on a good albeit losing effort TWICE against Bowe when he low blowed and headbutted himself to another DQ loss. I'm sure haters would enjoy watching this I agree - as well as Lewis fans. Despite any "injection" and it making him "lethargic" it probably would have made little difference. Lewis still would have won that night.
What injection.....does anyone have a credible link to this story? I've never heard it before and it sounds BS'y to me.
Why would you think that? Don't you think a fight-team giving their man an injection which makes him "lethargic and nervous(?)" makes sense? I mean it is the worst of both worlds - AND almost impossible to achieve with one dose. They must have really tried hard to find something that would make you feel both of these things at once AND killed pain. But it's still perfectly realistic.
Just read this........... Golota had an injection of the pain-killer lidocaine 90 minutes before the fight because of tendinitis in his left knee. ''I was in a dream,'' Golota said. ''I didn't know what was going on.''
#1 - Does Golota have the same excuse against Brewster? #2 - What a great stare down Lewis and Golota had... #3 - Lewis was on top of his game, he feared for his nuts, he wanted Golota out of there. He did what he had to do, plain and simple. I love Golota, always will, but Lewis fears for his nuts, he's unstoppable.
Yeah when he tried to fight back some of those swinging shots looked so dangerous and its lucky for LL that they never landed!! That closing uppercut from LL didnt look that much on the replay - but I guess as he was already out on his feet it didnt take much to finish him.
get the **** out of here. grant is just another bum. actually he isnt. but whats clear is as time goes by LL reputation just gets bigger and bigger...
Scar, you may have a point, but you once again reveal your true colors. You're a total *****, and a fair weather fan. I remember when you were amongst the Golota Faithful, making posts in support of him in his lead-up to bouts with Byrd and Ruiz. Then after the Brewster debacle, you became a Golota Hater. Say what you will about us true Golota fans (of which you were never one, for you're just a fair weather fan), but we are a loyal bunch, and have continued supporting him through all the turmoil. I would be ashamed if I was a half-ass fan like you. True fans don't jump ship; only bitches do that. Do the math... :smoke
The injection was lidocaine, and the Doctor was named Katzman I think... Going off of memory. Whatever happened that night, Golota was a mess, and nothing takes away from what I consider Lewis's best performance ever, albeit, a quick one.
