I have to say he was much better than before yesterday. He gave a few insightful comments, did not sound as nervous as he normally does, and I didn't hear much "definitely" either. I think he's improving :good
Mike Tyson is pretty good.. sure he uses words like bolivion (instead of oblivion) but he's cool. Not sure he'd mesh well with Merchant.
He's grown on me. Originally Lennox was HORRIBLE...but it was funny watching him stumble words. "A lot of basketball players are...good...at basketball"
But I think Lennox has done well over the years. He doesn't commentate, however, on anything that isn't going on in the ring, that much is certain. He mainly just concentrates on what the fighters are doing and does not speculate on their careers as do Lampley and Merchant. That being said, I thought Larry Merchant was awesome last night.
Love Merchant. And I'll take Lennox over Steward, Jones, Foreman or Kellerman any day of the week. Steward has no concept of creating drama. He has a flat, lazy sound to his voice and he always says that the fight is going just as he thought it would. Jones was OK, but he always put his ego in there. Foreman was funny and always got into spats with Merchant, but he came off as a little dopey and said some silly things. Kellerman pushes the fighters he likes while the fights happening. Not objective enough. Lennox calls it as he sees it and knows what he's talking about. And he's funny!
