Lennox is the greatest of all time.

It's going one of two ways - early KO for Lewis or the worst beating ever seen in a ring with Lewis on the recieving end. Remember, though, that Frazier had a wonderful long hook and hugely - hugely - underrated footwork. I mean Frazier's footwork may be the most underated attribute in boxing. The educated pure space pressure he puts onto Foster is hideous. The first round is just a nightmare to watch. Poor Bob, he actually panics a bit. FIght's on YouTube.

Anyway, I lean towards Lennox, like you, but this one nags me a bit.

There are enough of them bro!

Where the **** is Zakman, anyway? Probably asleep, dreaming about Evander.

I disagree with your McCall/Liston analogy generally, but it is a good point about his being good at all ranges. You have to go to world class guys to find better fighters at mid, long or short - and that's very rare. Inside he may be the best puncher ever.

paulfv listed 11 fighters who he "believes" would beat Lewis.
Because of his glass chin and limited skills, of course, as his fights clearly indicate :nut

But, if even RICO ranks his chin as average, then it probably is pretty decent:D

Mercer would hammer Cooper. Cooper had a half chance at Ali, if his luck had been in. The point is, all great fighers struggle with lesser versions of the pugilist.

Yeah, there is a lot of that gets said. For me personally, concentration, dedication, and the longevity that results are tangible things, but it is fair to say Lewis was at his best when ultra-motivated. Rahman II is a fine example, night and day those two performances.

All the fight night games have some of that going on. Here:

No, the best Heavyweight so far was Ali, no question, and he lost his peak year,s and still did rather well. Make no mistake Lewis was a force to be reckoned with . Just m4 2 cent,s

The question is about the best heavyweight on a Head To Head basis, not the greatest of all time.
