Agreed. Anybody who says otherwise obviously doesn't understand boxing and should go back to watching WWE. Fact.
This is said about any fighter who gets dropped Lewis was just a strong fighter in boxing sometimes you get caught no shame in that .
If it was iron, he wouldn't have been KO'd cold with one shot, twice. It may not have been GLASS, but it sure as hell wasn't IRON.
his name got brought up in this thread asking which great fighters were packing glass chins: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=500889
Lewis chin was horrendous. don't see how posting some vid of him dancing like a drunk each time he gets touched is supposed to prove the opposite
If it was Khan-esque, he'd be sleeping vs Ray Mercer, that's for sure. It it was Chuvalo-esque, he'd have stood up to the shots that ultimately dethroned him.
How was he KOED cold against McCall, he was up at 6 and complained soon as the shitty ref stopped it. ****ing cold... shut up.
He was stumbling around as if someone had glassed him with an unopened scotch bottle. I agree that the stoppage was premature, what say you of Rahman, that it wasn't ten seconds? :rofl
Lewis always carried his hands low. His defence was poor and his reflexes were certainly not Ali-like to have them so low. Because of this, he got hit too much. It's not that he had a glass jaw, but his defence was average and anyone getting caught flush by a top contending HW is certainly going to feel it.
Iron Chinned fighters don't get KOed period. Especially against two mediocre American Heavyweights like Lennox did.
I dont understand why the OP feels the need to defend Lewis chin???? Did some knowledgeable credible fan claim it ws weak or something? Otherwise why bother?
Lewis's chin was okay. He fought a LOT of capable punchers. For him to only lose twice, he would have to have been the greatest defensive fighter ever if he had a glass chin.
