His chin was good,he stood up to lots of huge punchers, but he could be vunerable at times like most fighters..
I'd classify his chin as pourcelain, harder than glass but weaker than normal bone and very far from iron
McCall and Rahman never laid anybody out like that before or since Lewis. Their reputation as huge KO punchers stems from those fights. Their only other big KO wins came from hammering on exhausted fighters like Seldon, Sanders, and Meehan. Lewis getting dropped like that from single shots was shocking and will always leave him with a chinny reputation. That said, Lewis took good shots from above average hitters like Vitali, Grant, and Holyfield, and while clearly rocked was able to recover well enough.
Um.....he was NEVER "KO'd COLD"....not once, let alone twice. You can hate LL and Lucian Bute, and all the other "Glass Jawed" fighters you want, but FACT is that like Wladimir, and like Tyson, LL, nor Lucian Bute were ever KOd cold.:huh
If the Rahman KO isn't cold..I don't know what is. One punch left a standing, smiling Lennox Lewis on his back, relieved of his senses, and unable to make the count. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/11/07/article-1327481-003C57E300000258-732_468x318.jpg
Douglas beat Tyson all night with combinations until he finally went down late in the fight. Holyfield beat Tyson all night with combinations and was stopped on his feet. Tyson took flush power shots from Holmes, Bruno, Ruddock, Tucker, and Bonecrusher without going down. As a shorter pressure fighter, Tyson had to absord the occassional fully leveraged power shot no matter how much he moved. Enjoying a long reach and height, Lewis could and often did win fights wihtout getting touched. No question, one fighter was more durable and had to rely on the ability to take a punch more often.
:rofl Are you comparing Lucy Bute to Tyson,Lennox and Wladimir????? Lennox was SPARKED OUT by Rahman.
