Please. Lewis fell into the ref's chest. He was done for. :deal

I already told you by the time Wlad reached the top Purrity wasn't evern top 40!

Sanders beat Wlad in 2003, then lost to Vitlai in 2004. He did not fight in 2005.

    NEXT.

I said Lewis was on his feet do you deny this?
Why didn't Wlad rematch Purrity BEFORE he reached the top?

ps no r in EVEN:nono Sanders never fought anyone called VITLAI! NB Wlad had 2 clear years to gain revenge before his brother VITALI bailed him out by stopping Purrity in 2001!
Wlad had over a year to get back in a ring with Sanders before Sanders lost to VITALI but instead he fought Fabio Moli and Danell Nicholson.
Stop with excuses, excuses you would not accept for Lennox!

There was ZERO demand in the states for Lewis/Johnson but that didn't stop him from trying to make the fight.

And Byrd at that time actually had momentum and was an HBO regular. A March 2003 ESPN poll selected Byrd as the fighter most wanted to see Lewis face next over Holyfield III, Jones Jr, and Tyson II. The only person who said there was no demand for Byrd/Lewis was Lewis himself.

The first question asked who Roy Jones should fight next. There were five choices: Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Chris Byrd, Wladimir Klitschko and David Tua (or maybe it was Evander Holyfield and not Tua). Anyway, I was sure Mike Tyson would be the runaway choice. It was a close contest, but Byrd edged out Tyson. That's right, of the roughly 30,000 respondents, more selected Byrd as Roy Jones' next opponent than any other fighter in the world, including Mike Tyson.
The second question asked who Lennox Lewis should fight next. Again, five choices: Chris Byrd, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, David Tua and Evander Holyfield (I am sure of these choices, because they are still posted on the site as I write this). Again it was a close contest between Byrd and Tyson. Again, Byrd edged Tyson out.

Vitalis resume is awful, there's no other way around it.

Sanders, Peters and Adamek are his best wins.

Wlads resume is light years ahead

Very true. King and Newman hated each other and King advised Lewis on the moves to make that would get Bowe stripped.

There are loads of articles on offers sent out from Bowe's side later on.

I don't understand how anybody thinks Lewis could have beaten Bowe at the time he gave sloppy amateur like performances against Tucker , Butler, Jackson and MaCall.
He would have been no match for the technically sound Bowe with Futch in his corner.

Futch wasn't impressed with Lewis after the Tucker fight. Him and Bowe definitely had the tools to win.

Its naive to think Lewis was 100% innocent in that whole affair.

The bottom line is that it was Bowe who threw the belt in the bin.

Lewis had beaten him in the biggest amateur fight of his career, and he went to bed every night knowing that.

When Lewis became his mandatory as lineal champion, and he had a chance at redemption, he committed one of the most disgraceful acts in boxing history.

If history has judged him unkindly, then he richly deserves it.

Obviously the business of boxing isn't something you understand. Let's for the argument say that you're right. The only one saying there wasn't demand for the fight was Lewis and the ESPN poll were clamoring for a Lewis-Bryd fight.

If true, don't you then think this would have been reflected by the offers Lewis received from the promoters? Given Lewis' comments I strongly doubt that this was the best offer he had received based on the options he had.

    It's not a popularity contest, it's a business ffs.

Sure, not matter whose fault it was, we'd all like to see Lewis against Bowe and younger versions of Tyson and Holyfield. But I think he is up there with Tyson and Wlad in terms of wins over ranked opposition, with the difference that he avenged his defeats. His win over a prime Vitaly is also better than anything they have.

So he's top 5 at HW in my book. That isn't **** - holes or no holes.

Bowe at his best gives Lewis the fight of his life ,but Newman didn't fancy that fight and maybe Bowe didn't either.:think

You can't say that. Bowe was going to be stripped.

Lewis dumped three belts before he was to be stripped for not fighting Byrd , Ruiz and Vitali.

Lewis did three times what you accuse Bowe of doing once.

And stop with the - he beat him in the amateurs nonsense

Bowe won the first , and then got absolutely shafted . I guessthat Korean beat Roy Jones in that Olympics as well yeah?

The only thing that kept Bowe awake at night is getting his revenge.

Futch was apparently impressed enough to steer Bowe away from Lewis. Bowe's own trainer thought Lewis would beat him. Bowe may have believed he had what it took to beat Lewis but those around him didn't.

"I was with Eddie Futch one day and he, and his wife, and I were together in Las Vegas just sitting at a little coffee shop. I asked him about the Rid**** Bowe fight when he threw away the belt rather than fight Lennox. He said, “Emanuel that was my doing. It was my decision because what happened in the ’88 Olympics, I always felt if they fought professionally it would have been the same thing. Even though Bowe was good, Lennox was always such a physically strong and mentally strong big kid, that eventually he would have still overpowered Bowe again because he was just that type of a rough guy”.

This sounds similar to the "Tyson was afraid of Foreman. He told Don King to fight Foreman if he loved him so much. He's a ****in animal", type tripe that's made a name out of Frank Lotierzo. :deal
