Lennox Lewis ducked Vitali Klitcko, or retired to avoid a rematch, why is he spat on like Bowe?

Lewis did not owe Klitschko a rematch as it was a stoppage win, normally a rematch is usually called for if it is a close fight or a controversial winner, this fight was neither. Klitschko may well have been up on the cards going into the sixth round iirc but he was not going to finish the fight due to the facial damage he had sustained. If Lewis owed anybody a rematch it was Ray Mercer whom he beat by majority decision in a very close fight .

Lennox Lewis beat every man he faced as a pro. Plus LEGITIMATELY won TKO 6 Vitali It was no accident Lennox had trained for a warm up fight with Kirk Johnson who suddenly dropped out injured at the last minute. Vitali was on the undercard. The plan was if Vitali won he got a title shot against Lennox he was 100% prepared for that. Rather that let the card suffer, Lennox took on his #1 contender on a few days notice for the title. Name me one other champion with the stones to do that ? While barely 80% ready Lennox gave Vitali a face lift.
He'd had his title shot & failed Why should Lennox rematch a man he TKO'd.. There was no one else for Lennox to fight, Wlad had gone AWOL, LOL, Ike was detained by the justice system. So Lennox did the thing ALL the champions should do He RETIRED for good at the right time while at the top. He is now living the good life he FULLY EARNED A Happy, Healthy, Wealthy Man with a lovely wife & family
For me personally Lennox was the best HW Champ since his own hero The Greatest Muhammad Ali

Bowe knew he could never beat Lennox so did Eddie Papa Smurf Futch. Bowe literally ate his way out of boxing

Because if Bowe actually fought Lewis and stopped him in 6, nobody would be calling him a coward...

I thought that was pathetic as well. Yeah Lewis sure did like to give pep talks to guys fighting The Klitschkos didn’t he?! Calling Corrie Sanders the night before Wlad and basically told him to pressure him. Hoping for the best so HE wouldn’t have to fight him.

Bottom line is Lewis said he’d rematch Vitali and ducked out of it. And was HOPING that someone else would beat Vitali to take the heat of their supposed to be 2nd fight.

He did beat Klitschko by a wide margin in a super-bore fest.

:duh TKO6 rears it's ugly head yet again. I'm a great admirer of Vitali (that loss is the best performance of the brothers Klitschko's combined records), but his best chance to beat the insufferable **** Lennox Lewis was that night and it didn't happen. His odds never subsequently improved.

“Why should Lewis rematch a man he TKOed?”
    :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Uhhhh… because he told Vitali he would, the vast majority of the population wanted to see it, his own coach Manny Steward advised him it would look bad if he didn’t rematch him AND Vitali was up on the scorecards at the stoppage and Lewis just got done throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Vitali in that 6th and COLLAPSED onto his stool after the bell.

There’s a reason why Lewis avoided the rematch and it’s NOT because he really felt he thoroughly and legitimately beat Vitali.

And that extra weight was on purpose. Steward said that Lewis WAS in shape and they weren’t concerned with extra weight because the knew Vitali was a solid and very strong 250.

I honestly think Lewis would've crushed Vitali in a rematch.

    Totally wrong lol
1... The extra weight was not planned it was because the original fight was a warm up with Kirk Johnson, who we knew had not been training seriously himself. Lennox was barely 80 % ready. Vitali was 100% chomping at the bit. There was a rumour going round that Vitali had paid Kirk to drop out on the promise of a title shot if he beat Lennox. But knowing Kirk as I did I don't think there was any truth to it.
2.... I was there I never saw Lennox collapse on his stool LOL . All you had to do was look at Vitali's face he was in no shape to continue. Sure Lennox was ready for the one minute break again just look at Vitali's face Lennox did that . Vitali would almost certainly permanently damaged his eye , maybe even lost it, if he was allowed to continue. The referee was 100% correct
3 ....Have you never known a trainer to say his fighter wasn't 100% before a fight. Actually I don't think Manny was too happy about the fight going on but still had confidence Lennox would win.
4.... The main reason Lennox retired when he did he was under pressure from his lovely wife & his Mother t both named Violet coincidentally, to retire Plus he'd beaten his #! contender TKO-6 when not 100% fit
Wlad had gone AWOL wasn't interested, Ike was detained by the justice system, there was no one else to really fight. So he did the right thing He Retired, & hes stayed retired despite many $ multi mil offers to come back. He is doing what all champions should do Retire while still Healthy & Live the Good life with his Lovely wife & family Happy, Healthy, Wealthy too. He earned it
Thanks For The Memories Lennox !!!!!!!!

He probably would have won easily because he would have been 100 % ready.

Show me where Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.
    I'll wait...
Also Lewis clearly wasn't in shape as he was training for a tune up fight.
Vitali's face was wrecked due to Lewis repeatedly punching him.
I'm confused that clowns like yourself are still crying about something that happened 20 years ago.
Lennox stopped Vitali, when he was fat and looking at retiring anyway, move on sunshine.
