God gave Vitali that nasty cut? No wonder my prayers don't get answered when he's too busy hiding in Lennox Lewis' gloves.

Didn't Vitali only have 2 weeks of training at that time? And he wasn't anywhere near as experienced in the world level?

And even with that, Vitali still was winning the fight until the cut?

VITLAY was expecting to fight Boswell - Lewis was expecting to fight Johnson. He didn't have two weeks of training, cumbucket.

Also, what does it matter if VITLAY was up on the cards? Lewis opened up MULTIPLE cuts and VITLAY looked as if he'd been hit by a bus.

Lewis beating Vitali does not make Vitali any less of a legend. Yes Lewis was not in great shape but Vitali still gave hiim hell. It is Vitali's most famous night.

However I agree that it saves us the hassle of having to hear even more **** from all but the most OTT Vitali fans who love him more than the sport.

Boswell and Lewis are on two different levels of existence. Training for one isn't the same as training for the other.

Even with those cuts, Vitali was ready to knock Lewis the **** out. He didn't want the fight to be stopped. Lewis didn't want the fight to continue. He knew he was going to get his ass kicked. Enter retirement. Enter never fighting again. If he was TRULY confident he can win again with better preparation, he would've taken the fight again. He didn't. That said, I don't blame him.

And being up on the scorecards mean something. It means he was beating the crap out of Lewis before the cut happened. And just being cut or having a damaged face does not mean you really lost the exchanges. It just means you were cut.

Because if that's the case, Pacquiao would've lost his fights to Clottey just because he was the more marked man when the fight ended.

That said, it's still a TKO loss for Vitali. That, however, does NOT imply that Lennox had an easy time and wasn't getting his ass kicked. It also does not imply that Lennox would have an easy time had he prepared better, because Vitali also wasn't able to prepare better for Lennox within the switch time frame of opponents.

P.S. I would've called you a cumbucket back, but then noticed I'd only lower myself to a crappy level if I did. I didn't even call names with my first post even. Are you that insecure about your hero?

    I didn't state otherwise.

You claimed VITLAY only had two weeks training, which is wrong. He had two weeks NOTICE, but so did Lewis.

Pure speculation. You don't actually know this. It's you opinion and nothing more.

You make it sound like it was a one sided beating. VITLAY must have entered the fight with those cuts based on your post. :rofl:lol::rofl:lol:

It was a one round swing. It's not like VITLAY won every round. Each round was competitive.

    Cry me a river.

I didn't CLAIM. I ASKED if Vitali had two weeks training.
It's still true that Vitali wasn't anywhere near experienced in the elite world level back then.
It was a one round swing if you were rooting for your boy badly.
And it ain't pure speculation. Look at Lewis' face after that fight and look at Vitali wanting some more.

It's not like Lewis fought the best version of Vitali ever. He wasn't in many high profile fights, he wasn't as experienced as Lewis. Physically, you can't even say Vitali was any good back then due to his kickboxing days. Several fights later, Vitali's body ended up completely broken that he had to retire for several years before he gets a clean bill of health.

But who cares? It's a freaking loss on Vitali's resume. Loss is a freaking loss. But don't go prancing around like it was a freaking cakewalk for your hero. Lennox wasn't the only one who had a hard time when that fight came up.

I got an interview of Lennox two weeks before the fight, where he says he is in great shape ("I'm feeling better than ever"). At no point in this HBO interview Lewis indicates that this would be his last fight.
