    Zakman

Do you consider Jones jr to have a glass chin?

    Would like an answer please.

Hard to say. Maybe he always had one, but was able to cover it up in his prime with incredible ability to avoid getting hit clean - or maybe he just got chinny as he got old. Who knows?

"I know. No matter what they do, however, they will not be able to erase the fact that he is the only top level HW champ who was taken out early twice by second rate fighters while he held the title. The only one"

Well nothing will erase the fact that Jones is one of, if not the only ATG fighter that has been brutally Ko'ed 2x.

I don't think Lewis had a weak chin but those punches weren't exactly what I'd call Tua's best. He's lunging in most of them and they're connecting at the end of the punch beyond the peak point of impact.

Lewis did a great job of staying out of Tua's wheelhouse in this fight.

If Lewis' chin was as bad as some people say, he is the greatest boxer ever. He managed to dominate a division of hard hitting big men all the while protecting a glass jaw.... pfft.

Lewis' chin may not be in the McCall titanium league but it's an okay chin.
He was knocked out once probably due more to under training and not acclimating himself to the altitude (completley his fault btw) and he was knocked down my McCall, but he got up. I think he should have been allowed to continue that one. (But it might not have made a difference)
That's a good question for Zakman, I know he hates Lennox but he also hates premature stoppages... hmm

Nah, he only got taken out once very early in his career, and then again very late. And both times, it took quite a few rounds to do it. With Lewis, it was one, and done. And it didn't take a great fighter to do it either.

Yes, but this is a point Lewis haters will never concede. They know they can't have it both ways. They want us to all believe Lewis had a fragile, egg shell chin, but they don't want to acknowledge that this would actually make his dominance as a heavyweight champ even more impressive.
He was then able to overcome a physical deficiency and still win almost every fight he was in. And against some pretty serious punchers in the process.

Holyfield fans cream their jeans when talking about how impressive his heavyweight career was even though he was able to overcome his size deficiency (he started as a light heavy), but I'm sure he would have liked to have been bigger than he was (Evan Fields would attest to that).
But, he played with the cards he was delt.
No fighter can be the perfect physical specimen - some are smaller than they'd like to be, some don't punch as hard as they'd like to, some have weaker chins than they would like, etc.

Lewis certainly didn't have a great chin as the OP has stated, but those who call it china are simply attempting to discredit Lewis' legacy.
And someone like Zakman does that with regularity since a lot of people rank Lennox as a greater champ than Holyfield and he can't handle that. So, he ignores all of Lewis' accomplishments and totally obsesses on his two losses, and subsequently his so called "china chin."

What fight were you watching? Toney hit him on the shoulder and Evander fell over and was up at 7 and fine. Don Turner threw in the towel. It was not even close to being a legit KO. Some of you people are idiots. James Toney is about as feather fisted as it gets at Heavyweight. Chris Byrd had more KO's at Heavyweight than Toney does.
