bs. 6 pounds hurts you if you are a little guy. Like 140 pounds. Maybe that's what you are and that's why it hurts you. Also, it's not only fat, it's muscle and fat. Gaining weight actually helps you if you're fighting bigger opponent.

Even lot's of smaller guys weight in at 160 and are 175 at fight night.

What I can tell you is its hypocritical for anyone to dismiss Vitaly not rematching Byrd and remaining active while putting Lewis down for winning and retiring. Both promised rematches, only one retired.

As a former wrestler and boxer, and someone who has trained in MMA I can tell you you're 100% wrong. Fighters train down to a peak weight for maximum speed and stamina and extra fat weight will effect both negatively. You need only to look at heavyweights today who struggle to go 12 rounds and fighters who went 15 round easily.

And the question you didn't answer was how do you think the Lewis from the Golota fight does against the Vits from their fight, and how do you think today's Vitaly does against Lewis from their fight?

I dont think its hypocritical at all. Vitali never promised to rematch Byrd. Besides, thats up to Byrd, hes the guy who won. I dont remember Byrd ever asking for or promising a rematch either. He was to busy calling out Lewis who notoriously ducked south paws like Tyson did. Vitali promised to win back his title, which of course, he never did win the WBO title back to my knowledge because his brother had it. Lennox specifically promised Vitali a rematch. Not only promised Vitali, but all the eager fans watching on television. He backed out. Its his brains, cant say I blame him. But it was a dishonest, shitty thing to do. Not just to Vitali, but to all of us.

He weighed in the low 240s for all his big fights.

He was 242 in the rematch with Holyfield.

He was as low as 229 when he fought Bruno.

He had clearly been losing motivation for a while before Vitali.

Vitali couldnt beat a career heaviest,inactive,old Lewis.

I shudder to think,what the Lewis who whooped Golota would have done to poor Vitali

 

Yes he ducked Byrd. He gave a title up rather than fight him. Lewis only fought one south paw his whole career, and that guy was a bum. Tyson fought none. Not one. Most great heavyweights do avoid south paws like the plague. All except the Klitschkos, Holyfield, and Apollo Creed:bbb
