Yes yes, I know, "he beat him by waiting for him to be shot lol". Thank you for your thought, move along. For the rest of us, here's Lennox Lewis writing about how he beat Mike Tyson, some interesting nuggets in here: https://www.boxingnewsonline.net/how-i-beat-mike-tyson-by-lennox-lewis/
LOL, I thought Tyson was a Bum and was easily beat when you stood up to him...... Amazing, a shot to shid drugged up fat Tyson impersonator more than a decade removed from his prime with TWO prison stints in between is Lennox Lewis's "legacy"...........same with Holyfield, his entire career hinges on beating a washed up Tyson. Amazing, on one end Tyson never beat anybody good, fought in a weak era, all his signature wins are down graded. has been's , never were's etc etc............yet he is still the yard stick for those two above.............
Yeah it's true Lewis wasn't young either, but then again, he was def in his prime when he fought him. Lennox got better with age and peaked in the late 1990's, he himself said he was like a fine wine. A Fighter doesn't necessarly reach his peak at a young age like Tyson or Ali.
He said little, & it is completely false that Tyson's fighting style had not changed. Everyone who knows anything about boxing can see that Tyson stopped moving much. Especially his head. Limited bobbing & weaving. Did not throw as many combinations. Looked more to one shot guys, headhunting, not setting up punches. Did not have endurance to be a viable candidate for victory beyond early in the fight. Lewis is often ego-bound, & cannot admit even to himself that this was nothing like beating prime Tyson. It is as if Tyson had fought Lewis when he was prime, at around the same age, but Lewis was still in amateur-or early in his pro career. Then took full credit for beating prime Lewis.
Tyson fought Lewis standing still. Peek-a-boo had already gone since a lot of time and therefore his chances to beat Lewis.
Lol it's unbelievable how much Lewis has to promote this win even to this day twenty years after the event, deep down it gets to him that people don't take the fight seriously
Which is why Tyson fans struggle to give him his dues. It's like Holmes jumping and dancing in joy for beating Ali.
