When comments are qualified with 'I think', 'very probably' and 'may well be' like I did in my post above, it means they are being made from memory smart-arse.

Any schmuck that can read can go look it up like you had to to correct me.

    Was he now?

Lyle knocked Foreman down twice. Not three times. Seems Mr Cocksure FJay isn't quite as smart as he thought he was -:

 My point is made . You spew the status quo . and for the record I never said anything about where ALI is ranked ? :yep

You did suggest I was wearing rose coloured glasses though didn't you mate, and 'for the record' you don't need rose coloured glasses to appreciate that the 70's heavyweight scene was the greatest in the division's history, or that Muhammad Ali dominated the greatest decade in the history of the heavyweight division.

If that's the status quo. Yeah I'm all for it mate. Just like anyone else with any reasonable share of boxing smarts.

You sound very much like just another nobody trying to change history.

Try and change the future. History is already done and recorded.

 ALI didnt dominate anything . And the era had competitive fights but is grossly overrated . And you my man should deflate that ego of yours . Stating the obviously wrong status quo hence being a conformist doesnt ******t such a large sence of self !:tong

Ali, Foreman, Shavers, Lyle, Norton, Young, and Holmes all give Lewis problems and great xhance to beat him. If prime Mercer took him to hell, so would Frazier. McCall, Purity, Sanders, just to name afew, they all beat these supposed unstoppable giants. And to say the real legends never had a chance? AH HAHAHAHAHA!

You clearly know very little. So good luck in your quest for knowledge, and do remember one thing:

Your ears will never get you into trouble. Use them.

GEORGE was droped and stopped by light hitting ALI . dropped by feather fisted YOUNG ! SHAVERS never beat an a fighter and was starched by the IRISH cruiser weight . NORTON was crushed by every big puncher he faced including a former middleweight shortly before facing ALI and beaTING HIM . ali STARTED THE 70S LOSING TO THE 205 POUND joe getting a couple of gift decisions and losing the title to an 8 fight novice . LARRY has already been discussed . Sticking the TERM LEGAND or ALL TIME great on these guys means nothing . Its a simple rediculous TERM . Not a measuable quality . :hi:

ah right, then no, he wouldn't have.

I think you could pick up and drop down Lewis in any era ever, and he'd be in the top 2 or 3 fighters.

And plenty of guys from back then would have a chance. But not many would be favourites IMO.

I am surprised you've been able to make it to 50 posts with your limited boxing acumen.

History is done and recorded, and Ali is rated right near the top of the tree - get over it!

Anyway, I've wasted enough of my time on you. That is all.
