Lennox Lewis in the 20's... would he be known as a God today?

  1. Assuming the Prime Version of Lennox Lewis was fighting in the 20's(
6'5, 240+,same skill, same size, same strength,etc.........)will his myth be God Like today?

He wouldn't get a title shot because of the colour line.

He would near die of starvation instead of becoming an athlete.

If he was exactly like he was in our era - I mean physically and skill-wise he would just have zero competition up to late 60's/early 70's and even then I think he would number 1. Only Ali and Foreman would come close to being competitive but he would overcome both IMO - and would have an easier task with Ali out of those two.

Yeah, he'd never get a title shot. Ever.

Aside from the color issue, he would have a much easier career than he had in this reality.

This would also change our perception of the large athlete. Guys got as big as Lennox back then, but didn't have the athleticism or skill to match. There would be no gradual evolution of a blend of size and coordination and skill.

I did mention that he wouldn't be alone in size; I also said he would be without peer in terms of the combination of size, coordination, and skill.

I doubt Lennox would be troubled for very long by Dempsey.

First of all lewis never would have weighed 240 pounds in the 20s, he would have been a 220 pounder just like he was at the age of 25

Right. I don't believe he ever would have gotten much above 230 in an era of 15 round title fights, and more likely closer to 220.

Thanks, Buddy! Over and over, I see that first knockdown sequence in Toledo, only now it's Lennox retreating with his back to the camera in mid ring as Jack winds up with that hook from the floor. Unlike tough Jess though, Lennox doesn't get up, and leaves on a stretcher.

If he was allowed to fight he would have dominated in over whelming fashion...

i think there is a good chance he has a very similar career, champion(ignoring color) but with a couple ko losses

i rate him quite high anyway so i dont think he could do much to be higher, except be focused more.
