These kind of interviews always turn up a few unexpected answers. Sugar Ray Leonard claimed Marcus Geraldo hit him harder than Hagler, Hearns and Duran combined.

agreed. The 1990 decade was excellent for heavyweights.

Dominated my ass. He lost every round to Bruno abd had his face rearranged before pulling out the fight with a hail mary punch, was knocked out by mccall, got a gift against a fat out of shape mercer who took that fight on short notice if i recall, had two tepid fights with a past it Holy in which he should have lost the second, was knocked out by Rahman, was losing to Vitali when that fight was stopped. Thats hardly dominating and several of those times he was struggling he was doing so against less than stellar oppisition.

Who won the Bruno fight? You do realize it comes down to an L or W right? Bruno at times was very good, despite what ppl wish to think....hes actually never been dominated off the bat outside of Tyson,he lost usually to stamina issues. He dominated the 90's era he was recognized as THAT era champion not holyfield or anyone else...look at the win streak then look at holyfields, did nt lose to Bowe and Moorer the weakest champ in that era? He crushed Golota who embarrassed Bowe who beat holyfield...the sole dominate champion of the era is Lewis!

this post would mean a lot more to me if you had come clean about whether or not you have a few MMA fights coming up or whether that was not true :bbb

Bruno brought a lot to the table, had a country behind him and had a vast advantage in experience. Not that this is anything more than a solid win, 50 years ago this sort of victory would certainly be something to write home about. He did well to overcome an opponent that fought his ass off and showed that Lewis had a long way to go before he was going to be considered the best heavyweight in the world.

I don't have time for people who criticize a WINS. It immediately tells me they have an agenda.

And I don't care if there's 30 seconds left in a fight and a fighter lost every second of every round, if he connects and knocks his opponent out for longer than a 10 count, he wins. End of story.

A fighter gettin a legitimate W is the whole point.

But....When comparing how good folks are, especially the elites, & how well they would do against others...How much they dominated or struggled is very relevant.

For example, I have Lewis as better than Holyfield.
Both could be inconsistent, Holyfield overwhelmingly after 30.
Using PEDs is a knock on his greatness, helping transform his body & enhance his physical capacities.

But I must acknowledge Lewis, like many Big Men, reached his peak later, or remained close to it.
One would have expected him to do better against Evander, fuhgettibout the official verdicts.

What was it, giving him too much respect? Am I wrong that he could & should have done better overall in those fights?

He was the greatest heavyweight of his era, beat every man he faced in unarguably the era of the hardest punchers the division has ever seen.

He wasn't perfect. Just as Ali, Louis, Holmes and Johnson weren't but he is in the conversation with them... and above at least a couple of them.

Lewis - Tucker is an underrated fight. Lewis - Mercer was a hell of a fight. I would have liked to have seen them do a 12 rounder. Lewis - Holyfield II was a very good fight. Lewis - Bruno was competitive. Lewis - Briggs had its moments. Lewis - Klitschko was a heck of a fight. Lewis was at the end of his career, though I think Vitaly would give him a tough fight at any point, owing to his height, reach, awkward skill, power, and punch volume.
