Yes, he is laughably bad. His co-hosts look to him for expert insight, but he usually ducks the meat of the question and opts for generic fluff, obvious stuff that anyone who has never seen a boxing match would have easily assumed.
I liked Manny Stewart, but I recall at least three times when he said “and he didn’t do anything wrong” after a guy got one shotted.
I don't mind Ritchie Woodhall and Barry Jones analysis, but their live fight commentary is awful. They are worse than Sky pundits when scoring for home fighters. Woodhall had Degale winning in the first Truax fight. Matt Macklin, Paulie, Al Bernstein and Roy Jones (yeah) I don't have a problem with. Lennox "I think he needs to double up the jab and then triple up the jab this round" Lewis is just comedy with his Jafakian accent.
He's never been the most charismatic person. He's also a very sore loser and extremely sensitive to criticism.
Lewis is like this manufactured pseudo intellectual who’s NOT that bright. AT ALL. Had a few pictures snapped of him sipping tea and playing chess to go along with a posh British accent and some people were like “Heyyyy look! He must be smart too doe!!”
“Sometimes a boxer needs a trainer that will tell him what he needs to do in the ring. So when he tells a fighter he needs to do something the fighter says ‘OH, I REALLY DO??? OK!’ then he goes out and does it. So having a good trainer is important.” ~ Lennox Lewis
I dont like any commentator nowadays. None. Sometimes I like malignagi, though. But sometime I dont like him neither. I must be getting old... it had to happen sooner or later..
