If Lewis had beaten Bowe in 1992, Ruiz in 2000 Wlad and Johnson in 2003, he would be the greatest in my eyes ending with a 45-2-1

    Bowe ducked him

Who wanted to see him fight Ruiz?

Johnson was a journeyman, he beat Klitschko instead!

Why do so many ASSUME that just cause Lewis didnt fight prime Holyfield and Tysons then that means he wouldve lost to them.

No one knows what the result wouldve been so STFU you cretins

The only FACTS we do know is that when Lewis did fight em, he beat em

Lewis was barely in his prime against Tyson anyway.

I think he is ranked pretty fairly to be honest, he is a consensus top 10, some have him top 5 due to a deep resume and great H2H matchup. I wont argue with either, though I do consider his prime version to be H2H perhaps the greatest ever, alongside Tyson. ****, he had everything.

He clearly dominated the 90's and was the greatest HW fighter of his generation. Yes, prime Tyson may have sparked him, but I dont see even a prime Holyfield being able to beat the very best Lewis. Very close fight though. Same with Bowe, all great fighter who can beat each other, very little between the prime versions of any of them. I think those 4 are very close in terms of ability and H2H matchups, an unbelievable quad of talent.

It cannot be denied that Lewis rose to the top however, admittedly with a couple of hiccups. Lewis gets his props, cleaned out a great division and had longevity and career defining wins.

And I ****ing love how people dismiss McCall and Rahman more and more with each day, particularly Klitschko fans. McCall was iron chinned, good fundamentals, very strong, great power.......a good contender in his day, in the days when a HW 'contender' actually meant a little more than the Ray Austins of today. Likewise with Rahman, glass jaw granted but good skills, big, very strong, superb power. A proper contender, twice WBC champion, had some good wins.

I think that Lennox Lewis is severly underated and has been the nearest thing we've had to calling the definative best in the division for a long time.

He fought at the highest level for 10 years and although he had his blips he is one of the few boxers i can think of who proved himself better than everbody who he faced by rectifying both his losses wiv kos.

    Gwarn LENNOX

no way, Holmes would slaughter Tyson in any H2H match-up. Lewis and Holmes would best match other ATGs; Frazier, the least.

This is one of the reasons why I think Lewis gets so overrated, because he was the last great HW champ.

But a closer look at his career reveals that he didn't fight the top guys in his era when they were at their best (or in Bowe's case, at all). The rest of his competition, overall, is pretty ordinary. ****** Fortune?? Zeijko Mavrovic?? Lionel Butler?? Phil Jackson?? Henry Akinwande? C'mon.

Even the better guys he fought like Razor Ruddock, Tommy Morrison, David Tua, Andrew Golota or Frank Bruno aren't gonna make anyone's list of ATG HW contenders. Ray Mercer should have gotten the decision against him!!

Add to that being the only top level HW champ taken out early by second rate fighters in the heart of his career, and putting him in the top 10, let alone top five, is a clear indication of just HOW overrated this guy is.
