Lewis isn't the GOAT he never beat a prime ATG in their prime like Ali did with Frazier, Foreman, etc.

Overall Lewis has a solid resume but it falls way short of Ali's resume, and he also doesn't have Louis's consistency either with 25 world title fights without a defeat.

Prime Mike would have a 50/50 chance of beating him IMO. Lewis chin was good, but not THAT good. He did take massive shots from Vitali and survived.

Ali vs Lewis would be interesting, could be another 50.50, but if Ali can KO Foreman, he can KO Lewis easily.

lol at people saying Lewis would outmuscle him. My ass. Since when did Lewis outmuscle anyone of worth? 2002 Tyson?

Lewis was getting bummed by Frank Bruno before getting the KO.

I watched almost every televised Lennox Lewis fight as it occurred. And, I watched two of them in person. Almost nobody who watched Lennox during his career even tried to argue that he was the GOAT heavyweight. Because none of his contemporaries thought he was. It is silly to try and argue to the contrary 20+ years after he stopped fighting. I agree that H2H, on his best night Lewis is a serious handful to any fighter. But, like many other fighters, he was not always consistent. He was easier to knockout than other greats like Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, etc. And, much like Wlad Klitschko, he tended to get a little defensive and cautious when serious return fire came his way. His wins over Tyson and Holyfield mean very little due to them being past prime. (Tyson was completely done at that point). I do think Lennox belongs in the pantheon of All Time Greats. He is certainly in my top 10. But, I just don't think he can possibly be considered #1.

Is he fk.. he's an all-time great no doubt but a lot of the opponents he fought were past their best.. & imo he should have three losses because Mercer beat him..

Lewis is good, but he ain’t the GOAT. That still belongs to Ali.

You're doing that thing where your talking about boxers like there some sort of joke. Frank Bruno was a decent HW boxer, ok a fringe contender. Do you know how high a level that actually is? To be almost good enough to be the best in the world. That's a high level of boxing.

Bruno gave Lewis a boxing lesson for the first few rounds. Mainly because Bruno came in with a point to prove. Lewis was the up and coming contender and Bruno was supposed to be there to make Lewis look good. Fair play to Bruno he displayed some brilliant boxing up until he got caught. There's absolutely no shame in Lewis losing a few rounds to Frank Bruno

Could also argue that he should have been allowed to continue against McCall

Ask Lennox himself & he would tell you that he was not the best HW ever produced. That award belongs to The Greatest Muhammad Ali !!!

I can’t think of any HW in living memory that has had their legacy massaged and reworked after they retired as much as Lewis. He wasn’t anywhere good as his record indicates. Most of his resume was against guys over the hill, battling drink and drug issues, overweight etc.
