Yes could imagine the **** Calzaghe would have gotten if he got KO'd by fighters of the class of Rahman and McCall

Lewis avenged his defeats. No one wanted to fight Calzaghe because there was no pay day. Lewis fought everyone.

Yes he did avenge those defeats but Calzaghe wouldn't have lost to fighters of that calibre in the first place.Lewis was very good but Calzaghe was better.

    best p4p? Calzaghe
Lewis always fought smaller boxers than him. If someone like Holyfield (210-215 pounds) had a good winning record against SHWs like Lennox, Vitali, Bowe and other SHWs he would be ranked high p4p he'd even be in the TOP10 p4p. Lewis is an ATG HW but he shoudn't be ranked high p4p.

I think the premise Lewis can be ranked p4p is simply down to his skill set. Yes he was a big fellow, but he didn't just slug and KO people with no skill at all. He had an ATG jab and worked his way in. Don't hold it against him because he was big, infact let that be to his credit that he still fought in a brilliant way rather than pushing people about.

I like Calzaghe but what the hell was he doing from 2001-2005, there is no doubt his career from amateur to 2001 and 2005-09 was legendary, but he missed the Trinidad, Ottke, fights to name only a few, so there is always a question mark.

No. Not anywhere near. And certainly not worthy of 3 ">". Hamed's competition pre-Barrera is only slightly better than Calzaghe's Pre-Kessler, if at all. The Hopkins victory really just puts the cherry on the cake, especially considering Hamed got soundly beaten by Barrera and then retired.

    1. Lewis was THE man at HW for a long period.

    2. Calzaghe was one of a few men in and around his weight class for a long period.

    3. Hamed underachieved.

I have some spare money. I'm going to give you 3 options. Please rank, in order, your preference of which you would like:

    £50 / £40 / £30

Those voting for Calzaghe over Lewis need a reality check.

The nature of this P4P argument, is far too subjective anyway though.

If we are basing it solely on legacy, resume and achivements, it has to be Lewis.
