You are literally one of the worst posters I've ever seen on here. The last sentence you posted; take that advice yourself.
Tyson COULD be nullified....Bonecrusher Smith proved that. Mix spoiling with big, good boxing, power, intelligence, and I reckon Prime Lewis would've done fine against Prime Tyson. However....Prime Lewis vs. Prime Tyson-My prediction is that Kid Dynamite walks over him in three rounds. But you make out as if Tyson was infallible. You give the excuse that Tyson hadn't trained, fair enough. But Douglas' Mother had just died. SOme people say that is a plus, I say that would affect his training. Anyway, common sense has prevailed and Lewis is surging ahead of Calzaghe.
Lummox Lewis was the best of these; but the claims of him being a top 10 ATG HW make me balk. Lewis was a good fighter with solid skills, a good jab, fine power. There's no doubt that he bossed the show for several years. I just can't see how those skills can be compared to the other greats: Ali, Louis, Tyson, Dempsey, Frazier. He was pretty slow and plodded quite a lot, and his size was pretty much what allowed him to dominate for a long time. There's no way he had the sharpness or the smartness of the Golden Era heavies; he went to work at a time where size dominated, and the shorter, faster fighters were no longer coming out on top. I don't see that you can point to his record, either, as a justification. Anyone who thinks Tyson was a credible victory shouldn't be watching boxing. Tyson was so far past-it at that point, you might as well scrub his name off that record. Evidence? He came in about 3 stone overweight to get beaten up and then went on to lose to such contenders as ... Kevin McBride. My nan could have beaten Tyson on that night. And then Lummox went on to scrape past Vitali. Granted, he was on the slide and Vitali was near his peak; but he was very, very lucky to win that fight. He nearly got knocked out twice, and he was totally gassed on his stool when the fight got stopped - don't give me any of that bollocks about him "waiting to take over the fight". Who else is there? Botha? Briggs? McCall? Credible fighters, but not champion-making material. The only victory I give him credit for is Holyfield.
Are you having a laugh? Top 3 ATG? Just because the division has got even worse since he's been gone, dont think for a second that he's up there with the greats.
