Plus Lewis solidified his claim to the the title by beating the man, Briggs, who beat the man who beat the man.

    Good post, and points.
Lennox really did improve after his loss to Mccall.
You could see early on with Lewis how he carried a few amateurish flaws in his fighting, against Bruno too.

We must remember that Lennox had n't even notched up a full two years as a pro by the time he fought Gary.

Given where they were in their respective careers it was a pretty good and strong performance by Lewis, and remember a brave stand by Mason too.

Lewis improved a lot under Steward. The McCall ko was no fluke. The first round McCall was somewhat outclassing Lewis and had him out of position at times. If McCall had not of knocked out Lewis in the second, Lewis would have had a lot of struggles in that fight.

No version of any heavyweight would knock out Mavrovic

That would make Mavrovic a great fighter though wouldn’t it? Would you say this one effort can provide that status?
Mavrovic believed in himself and was driven. Those guys are hardest to discourage. We never saw him knocked out. So I guess it would be foolish to insist mavrovic could or would get knocked out against another fighter. Not that would stop anyone else from insisting other fighters who were never knocked out would get knocked out. Maybe he was just wrong for Lewis though?
