Exactly. Furthermore, maybe Muhammad & Lennox were close? Bottom line is, it's the choice of the family of the deceased as to who carries the casket (or the choice of the individual prior to their death if they wish and are able to make such a choice). It's no-one else's damn business. Who are we to make a judgement or express an opinion on who should carry the casket? Or maybe some just don't like Lennox and have an axe to grind & will pick on anything to criticise him?
2 years ago I was a pallbearer at a friend's funeral at the request of his wife. There were hundreds of people there including life long friends of the deceased who was 55 years old. I had only known the guy 25 years. I don't get your point. I should add there were 6 of us, and none were family members, but all were selected by his family.
X2. Lennox has always held Ali in the highest esteem. I think it's wonderful. Sort of like a passing of the torch moment. And it is none of our business. Perfectly put, John:good
Exactly. WTF is going on when people are trying to turn Parkinson's Syndrome into senile dementia? As far as I know Ali's brain was in fine working order, he just had trouble articulating his thoughts into words.
"I am humbled, and honoured, beyond words to help see my hero, Muhammad Ali, off to his final resting place," Lewis said. I'd say that just about sums up why he was bestowed the honour, and rightly so. No doubt some fool will say Ali was Tyson's hero too. Just what you need as a pall bearer, a convicted r"""ist.
Hopefully someone who understands that blowing off the funeral of your wife's father is a little bit different.
