Holyfield. Heck, a declining 37 year old Holyfield fought him tooth and nail in '99. Prime for prime, Evander wins going away, and maybe even scores a late stoppage. :nod

Holyfield wins by decision, a good measuring stick is Ray Mercer. Holyfield beat him to the punch most of the fight and even floored Mercer for his first knockdown of his career, getting a comfortable decision, Lewis on the other hand had trouble with Mercer the whole night, a fight had him losing by a point or two.

Lewis beat the 99 version of Holyfield comfortably the first time, and just barely the second time around, if the 91-92 version of Holyfield fought the Lewis of 99, I really do see Holyfield picking his spots and getting the win with his good foot movement and fluid combinations.

In their prime, Lewis KO's Evander. In 99, Lewis was nowhere near his prime. And a prime Evander would be much more aggressive towards Lennox leaving himself open to a brutal counter that would end the fight.

When was Lewis Prime. Physically when he fought Bruno and Mccall but he changed his game towards the end of his career and was even more formidable as a thinking boxer!

    Holyfield by stoppage.

A faded 37 year old Evander went to the scorecards twice with Lewis,
    a prime Holyfield wins.

I think a prime Bobby Czyz beats a prime Evander though.

    Not quite.

Evander was 36 for the first fight and at his heavywt prime.

He was two years past his best ever heavywt win Tyson, and barely a year past his Moorer victory.

And Lewis won 10, maybe 11 rounds.

No version of Evander could deal with Lennox's best.

You are right, but it doesn't work that way for Evander huggers. In their mind, he immediately went to **** before the Lennox fight. Though in previous years he struggled with Czyz, lost to Moorer, lost twice to an overrated Bowe, etc...but he is invinceable to many.

A prime Holyfield would not have been knocked out by a tribe of wild gorillas.

But he could not have dealt with Lewis's jab, power and skills. A prime HW Holyfield was immense, but remember he lost the Bowe series because of his size, and Lewis was as big as Bowe but hit harder and was a far better boxer.

Holyfield was not in his prime in 99, his footwork and his combinations werent nearly as crisp as they were back in 91-92, that version would of gave Lewis all he could handle and then some.

I take it your a huge Lennox fan, but Lewis didnt win 10 or 11 rounds in that fight, I could see if you said 8 rounds, there second fight was pretty close, I could see that one going either way IMO.
