I knew Lewis was going to destroy Grant, because Golota floored Grant twice. I thought that's it once Lewis hits him, it's going to be over very quickly. To Grant's credit he showed great heart, but unfortunately very little otherwise.

The stoppage did stink a little bit, but - and I say this as a big Lewis fan - Lewis allowed himself to become subject to the referee's decision, the moment he walked onto a McCall right-hand. I'd have much preferred for Lewis to have been given the chance to continue. I think he should have been; albeit, that we cannot be sure it would have turned out for the better or to Lewis' detriment.

Whether there was skullduggery involved or not, can't be proven. There were no prints left on the weapon.

The point is, however, that once Lewis' defenses (or what there was of them) had been breached, he'd offered up the stoppage as a viable option to end the fight, right there and then.

My god you are hard work. Would you prefer it if i said you were lying to support your narrative yet again? Calling someone out for saying someone was expected to be beaten by two opponents when in fact he was a BIG favorite is not "nit picking".

Just admit you stuffed it up or had no idea whatsoever.

You sure work in very mysterious ways.

I admitted that those two were underdogs, I probably should have said that they were, but it doesn't change that they were harder opposition though. Because they were. I think it’s fair to say there were hopes Lewis would be derailed. I’m sure many hoped Holmes would be derailed by Norton. Or Holmes by Cooney. Or Holmes by Ali. He was probably favourite for those fights too.

Lewis had a lot of fights like that. He probably was favourite to beat Grant too. It doesn't change that he wasn’t necessarily matched to win or that the industry hoped a new star would beat him.
