Lennox Lewis states why he didn't give Vlitali Klitschko a rematch.

LOL Lennox was KTFO twice, and got rematches to redeem himself. Lewis ripped Vitali's face off and WAS STILL Losing on the cards, and despite how hard Lewis can hit and the sound of the punches...Was nowhere near knocking Vitali out.
Apparently Lewis was at his worst as well when Rahman pimped slapped him down.
YES, Lewis was scared, or straight up didn't want to go to war with the man again.

 

I still cant understand why so many people go bat**** over this topic. I mean that stoppage has generated nearly as much controversy as Taylor vs Chavez, and frankly I don't see any similarities between those two scenarios. We have a case where a past prime champion, in the last fight of his career, was able to inflict enough damage to force a legitimate stoppage, yet you have people who are practically awarding the other guy with the victory... Christ, Muhammad Ali doesn't even get this much **** for being flat out gifted a decision in his rubber match with Ken Norton...

One could make a legitimate argument that Klitschko was worthy of a second chance, but common guys.. Let's not try to errase Lewis's claim to at least deserving the win.

 

To win a fight because of a massive cut caused by a dubious punch when behind on the cards is highly controversial in my book.

Dubious punch, or not, the ref ruled it a legitimate punch..deal with it already. And if you really want to see a dubious punch, go watch how Grant's fight against Lewis ended..now THAT was dubious punch. And you still can't get past that scorecard can you?

Ref was on the side of the punch and did see how the contact was made. Scorecards is all that matters. Skill wins fights in absence of knockouts. But I don't expect a hypocrite like you, who question Holyfield-Lewis draw but not the dubious stoppage because of injury, to understand the concept.

 

Do you watch boxing? I mean seriously do you? Why don't you take a poll and see which of those two fights were unjust? I DARE YOU!!

I've been on this site for about 7-8 years now and nobody I know thinks that draw was legitimate, in fact they had an investigation over it.

On the other hand, only a very few fanatical Klitschko fans think that punch wasn't legit or the outcome itself wasn't legit. Many Klitschko fans on this site, have called for a rematch, but very few have actually questioned the decision regarding the fight.

 

Then where is your outrage at Cooper being stopped by Ali on cuts when Ali was dropped in the previous round and Dundee buying extra time by illegally enlarging a tear on Ali's glove to give his fighter more time to recover between rounds.

This fight had a very similar situation to the Lewis/Klitschko fight and is even more controversial as Ali was dropped and hurt, something Vitali failed to do with Lewis and Ali's trainer cheated to ensure extra recovery time. I have never seen you comment on this fight.

Fact is you are blinded by your bias and nuthugging tendencies towards Vitali. If the situation was reversed and it was Lewis who had boxed well early and lost on a cut you wouldn't be spouting your bias drivel you'd be posting Vitali TKO6 all over this forum.

Fights get stopped on cuts all the time, deal with it and move on.

No not really I was stating that in the context of how Bremen views Lewis/Vitali.

The ending I would say was inconclusive rather than controvesial. Lewis won fair and square but there is no denying that neither man really proved himself to be obviously superior to the other at that time.

 

I know, whenever I see him post his drivel I spend hours trying not to respond to it but eventually I give in and have to call him up on his bias rantings.
