Its usual in boxing for fighters losing early rounds and coming on strong, **** some people win 11 rounds straight and then get ktfo

Why don't you go watch sugar ray leonard vs tommy hearns 1 all tommy had to do was stay on his feet for the last 2 rounds but he got stopped and that was a 15 round fight. So do we say Hearns really won the fight as he was up on the score cards, no do we **** :rofl

Lennox was a great boxer, but anyone who heard him while he was with HBO should know that he is one arrogant SOB, the man even talks about himself in a 3rd person. What do you expect him to say, " I underestimated Vitali and got lucky"? The fact is Vitali gave him a hell of a fight and he did not want a challenge of another fight at that stage of his career. Beating up washed up Tyson and earning easy money is one thing, going to a rematch with a younger talented Vitali was another. Lennox did what was best for him, so let it go and move on.

 

As always you only see what you want to see to fit your bias agenda. You purposely mis quote Lewis in that article.

Lewis: "I am in great shape. I have been doing a lot of maintenance work. Right now, my body is telling me to go into camp and get into better shape in the next few weeks."

How is a fighter in top shape when he needs a few weeks to get in better shape? And Lewis did plan to fight twice that year, the second fight clearly being a lucrative rematch against Tyson which he talks about at several points during the interview. As the Tyson rematch never materialised he retired as he was only staying around in the hope of an easy payday against Tyson.

 

Facts are, lewis ****ed people up in rematches.
If anyone is lucky, its vitali, because lewis could have destroyed any chance of him going on to have such a long career as he did.

 

Lewis was losing interest in boxing and maybe he could have gotten inspired for a rematch. He was kicking Klit's butt at the time the fight was stopped. Had it continued, there would have been no reason for all this rematch talk. Lewis would have hurt Klit, badly. The Klit's between them have fought one (1) ATG! That was Lewis.
