Not one meaningful fight has occurred in heavyweight division since Lewis defeated Vitali, so the want for a rematch, even now, is understandable.

However, it is an insult to your own intelligence if you believe an ounce of Lewis' suggested return. He's making people jump through hoops and enjoying it.

If Vitali can truly win the lineal title off Lewis then it surely died with Marciano. What if Lewis doesn't come back until 2015 then loses to some club fighter. Is that the Lineal right there? What if he has a warm up for Vitali and loses to a mug? Are they Lineal? I understand the concept but jeez it's shallow at times.

While this fight would garner interest is this the sort of thing that is really good for boxing? And it's participents? Personally i think **** like this is a step backward. For every George Foreman we have 300 failures.

Lewis was huffing and puffing and struggling 5 years ago. If he does come back my opinion of his intelligence would drop greatly.

To the contrary he's giving them press. People are more worried about an ex champ then they are about the present.

On that one i'll agree, boxing somewhere somehow does need a good shot in the arm, especially in the Heavyweights.

A Tyson like destroyer would be nice, a frightening meteoric rise and decimation of the division. Be nice if he kept his head tho

With all due respect the Gene Tunney took the lineal title to his grave. But that is not my point. Boxing needs a headline fight or two, and Lewis vs Vitlai II is the ticket.

Mendoza, obviously it would never happen, but who would you take in Vitali-Wlad?

Secondly, which brother do you think is best equiped to dispatch David Haye?

Finally, have you seen Haye's last fight yet?

I disagree. I think there is a chance for Lewis vs Vitlai II. It doesn't matter what Lewis fans think. What matters is the MONEY, and what Lewis thinks.

Fighters get ideas all the time. Lewis might roll out of bed one day and say, I'm back.

I think Vitlai would defeat Wlad, and no, I have not seen Haye's match vs Barrett.

    What you said was this

If boxing needs to dig up corpses like Lewis (Not to mention Holyfield, tho it's not exactly a HUGE fight but the point remains) to find headline fights, well, it's fukked. A truly sad state of affairs.

I'm definitely not going to cherish or encourage it.

The Heavyweight division is in tatters interest wise, and what it needs is a bright new exciting talent, not old has been's for lack of better color. The Klit's, tho fine fighters, have just not captured the imagination or hype of the fans. If they were American, who knows? They've certainly got fine winning records.

Lewis is talking 100million US JT, I don't care what anyone thinks that is a huge incentive for him to come back, I hope he doesn't I just don't think with his layoff and age he would beat either of the Klits

I agree with Robbi here; I don't see Lewis coming back. I think he's too smart for that.
Besides, nobody is going to offer Lewis 100 million. 40 million isn't even halfway there.

Lennox Lewis wont come back. He's just having fun with all the pathetic questioning about a comeback he has had to endure over the last few years, and the desperate calls from Vitali Klitschko for him to come back.

Lewis peaked 10 years ago, last fought 5 1/2 years ago, and looked old slow and overweight BEFORE he retired. Since then he hasn't kept himself near fighting shape. He's 280 pounds, 43 years old, has a nice wife and a son, and millions of dollars.
If he was to come back he'd embarrass himself and make the heavyweight division more of a joke than it already is.
