No, it's not. The fight with Bowe was proposed at the same time Tyson/Seldon or Tyson/Lewis could have happened. Instead of taking Tyson on, Lewis went after the tougher challenge, got $4 to step aside and was promised a fight with Seldon, if he got past Bowe.
How the **** can you say this and then follow it up with this, absolute nonsense:
    That's just ridiculous.

Again, you're missing out a big part of the argument. Lewis stepped aside to fight a tougher opponent and asked for a promise that Tyson would be his next opponent, which he got.
Except it's not the bottom line, is it? Tyson's own team wanted Lewis to fight Bowe first which is why he got a very generous $4m step aside fee. The idea from both camps was to fight Seldon and Bowe and then meet further down the line, in a fight which would have had more titles on the line and would make 10x as much money as it would, had Lewis not beaten Bowe.

Both sides wanted that because it made financial sense. Had everything gone to plan, it would have been the right thing to do. The problem is, Bowe ****ed things up by refusing to fight Lewis.

You're oversimplifying the entire thing. Yes, Lewis didn't accept the offer to fight Tyson but he did insist Tyson's next opponent after Seldon would be him. If you're going to carry on talking like Lewis walked away from a huge paycheck without a second thought, then you need to answer this. You said "It's Lewis' fault the fight didn't happen" yet you place no blame on Tyson actually offering the step aside money? If he didn't offer it, Lewis couldn't accept! And had Bowe been man enough to fight Lewis, the fight with Tyson would have happened straight after the Seldon bout, like both sides wanted.

You have a clear anti-Lewis bias and it shows. Your posts on this are truly ridiculous.

Yeah, he was really boring at times. It's understandable why he didn't get the opportunities that he should have because he was so boring, and I say that as a fan. I liked him a lot more in the late part of his career though and he came across better but, in his prime, it's clear why Tyson and Holyfield were always going to be the bigger stars.

Why do you insist on making up this false "impending Lewis vs Bowe" nonsense? You do realize that it is complete and utter bull**** right? Everyone who was watching boxing at the time knows that this happened right in between the Bowe vs Golota fights. FFS man, Bowe fought his first fight with Golota 2 months before Tyson fought Seldon.... he then immediately went into a rematch with Golota 5 months after.... (3 months after Tyson fought Seldon) which was one month after Tyson lost to Holyfield!

At no point during that span was Lewis supposed to fight Bowe. Stop talking out of your ass and go brush up on your boxing knowledge. I'm done with you until you learn how to discuss facts.

Lennox would not even engage with a past Prime Holyfield. Both of those fights were stinkers.

Plus he was knocked stiff by 2 mediocre American Heavyweights.

I have an issue of The Ring from 1996 where is says this, if you'd like me to find that? And here is a quote from the NYTimes, from May 1996:

Bull****? Nah, I don't think so. I think it's clear I've just proven you wrong, but I'm looking forward to hearing your excuses. I'm expecting an escape job Harry Houdini would be proud of.

I just thought I'd leave this barrage of insults and accusation of ignorance in, considering I just proved you wrong.

Bowe and Lewis were supposed to fight in 1996. That's a fact.

Everyone thought he had a glass jaw in the 60's, he went down early in his career and they thought it would be easy work for liston, even after that they thought he had a glass jaw, when henry cooper put him down. It wasnt until the Frazier fight that people didnt say this anymore. They confused his brilliant ring generalship and ability to not get hit, as him protecting a fragile jaw.
