UK is a joke why don't they have any good cage fighters over there? Bunch of sissy boys, Dan THE OUTLAW Hardy is the best the UK has to offer ha?:rofl
Holyfield avoided the fight until it made financial sense, as he's admitted to. Tyson did the same but more blatant, despite Lewis pushing for the fight. Bowe blatantly and shamefully ducked Lewis. Moorer was hot and cold throughout his prime and it wasn't a fight people were interested in. Foreman said he didn't want part of Lewis. The idea that Lewis should be criticised for these fights not happening is laughable. It's funny though, because you criticise Lewis for the Byrd and Sanders fights not happening, yet in the exact same scenario, you also blame Lewis for the Bowe, Tyson, Holyfield etc., fights not happening. Talk about double standards. There's absolutely no way you can criticise Lewis in both scenarios - Yet you did!
Here's what the pride of the UK was doing while Tyson was destroying pro Heavyweight champions This content is protected He's actually older than Tyson too heh..
What a terrible post. No heavyweight since ali has such an accomplished resume. Lewis is the last truly great heavyweight that boxing has had, wlad might take that mantle soon if he sticks around long enough. My atg heavyweight list probably looks like Ali Marciano Louis Lewis Holyfield Foreman Frazier Tyson Holmes Wlad
Yes. Some of us have the ability to look at when he actually fought those guys. First of all... why on earth are you counting the ams? Doesn't that say something right there? That you have to bring up opponents from his am career to make his resume look better? We all know that the Tysonf ight means nothing, he may as well fought Cliff Couser that night. He was losing to Vitali, won by a cut from a grazing punch, and avoided the rematch, he barely beat a Holyfield that lost to John Ruiz afterward, won a controversial decision against Mercer and refused to give him a rematch... and split wins with Rahman. Was also knocked out by McCall, and only won the rematch against an addict that they pulled out or rehab who clearly had no business in the ring. How many people have we seen beat Golota the same way? Rudduck was never that good.... Tua was a solid contender.... I fail to see the greatness. What an amazing resume. I would understand if he simply didn't have anyone to fight. The problem is that during his era... he had all kinds of stars to fight. He managed to fight none of them when it matters. Then, afterward he had Wladimir Klitschko as the #1 contender by Ring Mag for over 2 years and wouldn't fight him. He also eventually dropped all 3 belts in order to avoid fights with all 3 #1 contenders for those belts.
Lewis was a truly great fighter, and a Top 5 ATG in the heavyweight division. And in terms of Head to Head.... Only Ali, Foreman, Tyson, and Shavers would even have a solid chance on his best day.
Lewis was my favourite fighter out of the big 3 of the 90's (Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson) A great fighting champion, and a great boxer-puncher. One of the most well rounded Heavyweights ever. I'm keeping my eye on you Beatle.
disgusting how the Klit-brigade always try to put a spin on Lewis career, must be because they know he is a hell of a lot better than the brothers. Just compare opposition and you will agree. Hell, Leon Spinks could dominate for years if he was prime these years.
