That is absolutely laughable. Golota and Ruddock were never champs, and not even championship material, and Lennox was about to be KO'd when Vitali's butter skin fell apart. Thank you for proving how weak Lennox's resume is.
He broke down because Lennox wouldn't budge this time. If you rewatch the fight, McCall actually won the second round trying for a repeat of the first fight, but when Lewis was still there... well it ****ed up his already fragile state. And besides that, how is McCall's mental state coming into the fight in anyway the fault of Lewis?
He's the best since Holmes, though (and therefore 2nd best since Ali...and 3rd best since Louis). :deal
Well its hard to say that Lewis was about to be knocked out by Vitali's but we can say with certainty that he was behind on all three scorecards when the fight was stopped.
I think this is probably the most decent thing said in this thread although i would say Holyfield had a matching resume along with lewis post Ali.
I didnt say it was Lewis' fault I said that it's wrong to say that Lewis took McCall out in style, which was stated by the earlier post.
That's completely your opinion (aka bias). The fact remains that he defeated a prime future dominant champion in Vitali when he was under-trained and past his best. Also Ruddock took Tyson to hell and back in two fights, and Golota was beating Bowe in both of their fights before he went ape **** and started fouling. Besides that, it's the nature of the last two wins that counts the most, he destroyed two great contenders in less than 3 rounds.
I get it now its the Yanks playing a game as they are embarassed, Lewis is crap because he beat Tyson and Holyfield in the States because they were supposedly past their best, Calzaghe did the same to Hopkins and Roy Jones, the laughable thing is the Yanks did not want to fight the Brits in their prime, when they did fight them they had home advantage and the Yanks took a beating. Lewis and Calzaghe would have won against those boxers at anytime, Joe may have had an issue with Jones in the States when he was on some dodgy medicine or herbs that are now banned, but basically both boxers fighting out of the UK are all time greats and better than America's best. Read it and weep:- Lewis beat Tyson KO 8th round in USA Lewis beat Holyfield pts in USA Calzaghe beat Hopkins pts in USA Calzaghe beat Roy Jones pts USA
You quoted me saying that Lewis turned down 13.5 million to fight Tyson, ect... and said that it was a downright lie... ect.... Then you see proof, and Now you are pretending that wasn't the issue and it didn't happen. You are all the same. What happened to it being a downright lie? What happened to you saying that this is the first time that you saw me lying to prove my point? What happened to you saying that you have followed boxing for over 30 years and never heard that story before? We just move on from that like you didn't say it?
And I outlined why I disagreed. Making your competitor break down in the middle of the ring and cry like a baby seems pretty badass to me, man.
You really are pathetic aren't you? If you think Lewis's resume is weak then you are ignorant beyond all bounds. Do you honestly think people saying you should die and calling you a ****** in this thread were doing it without good motivation. Read over the comments in this thread and we'll see how much your opinion is respected. Ruddock had only lost to a prime Mike Tyson, once by very controversial stoppage which caused riots at ringside, and once by decision. Lewis blew him out in 2 rounds, Tyson even in his absolute prime could not knock Ruddock out. Lewis did it with ease. Golota absolutely battered Riddick Bowe twice, nearly stopping him and in the long run irreprably damaging Bowe's career with the beating he gave him. Had Golota not been mad and dirty, he would have easily beaten Bowe. Lewis took on a fighter who in most peoples minds had been better than Bowe over 2 fights, and avoided like the plague. Lewis took him out in a round. Vitali was young, fast, had a ridiculously high KO% and was taken on short notice. To cut a fighter, you have to land punches, Lewis did, so he won. End of story. Let's take a look at Holyfield's best wins shall we? Holyfield: Holyfield KO3 Buster Douglas - Douglas was badly overweight, and had not prepared properly. Was not the half the fighter he was when he beat Tyson. Holyfield MD12 Riddick Bowe - Bowe was overweight in this fight, suggesting he was unmotivated and not 100%. Controversial decision. Holyfield KO4 Dwight Qawi - A very good win for Holyfield, Qawi was the best cruiser out there, and although not exactly 'great' Holy still took him out in style. I don't expect you to read this, but if you do, take in what I said. You have been made to look like a fool and a troll in this thread. please consider this before making future threads. Edit: And the poster IntentionalButt, one of the best and most respected on ESB, who has never shown bias in his analysis, agrees Lewis is the best heavyweight since Holmes. I'd hold his analysis in high regard if I where you.
Good post!:good but you forgot Vitali was beating the holy **** outof Lewis before Lennox got lucky.....
