Lewis was not far out of his prime,,,,Vitali just made him look like **** that night, an if were not for the shot to the eye, vitali would of won,,,An lewis no question wanted to fight more fights, but reallity set in, he can beat the MAN,,,so he ducked vitali, just as he waited to fight an old tyson,,,lewis is good at ducking people, it is who he is........But if lewis did come back, i would not count a ko over him by vitali worth anything now,, cause of his late age.............Chicken lewis

I think some of you live in a alternate reality where the fight between Lewis and Klitschko never happened because Lewis turned it down. NEWSFLASH: That fight happened 5 years ago. I saw it with my own eyes. Lennox the legend punched Vitali's face off his skull after he took the fight on 10 day notice. Lewis won. Klischko lost. No spin zone.

Vitali coulda waited another 3 months to heal up. It's not like he is Mr. Glass from the movie Unbreakable.

Ignoring the punches Vitali landed, Lewis dominated all six rounds before stopping him. :patsch

Lewis won the fight fair and square, it was the result of his punches that made Vitali unable to continue BUT (and a lot of people seem to forget this) Vitali was only given two weeks to prepare for the fight after Kirk Johnson pulled out with an injury, fully-prepared he would definitely have beaten Lewis in that state.

Both guys took the fight on short notice and so neither one prepared for the other.

    The truth ?

    Vitali retired Lennox.

Lennox won the fight fair and square. How things were on the scorecards is irrelevant, when the fight-doctor calls a halt to the action.

Had the fight continued, Lennox would have won in round 7 or round 8. That cut was impossible to get around.

(Had someone 'magically' repaired the eye to it's pre-fight state, Vitali would probably have won. But then again, if your aunt had balls, she'd be your uncle. No 'ifs' here).

Vitali caught Lennox at the very end of his prime, hence he was competitive, even dominant in a sense.

Lennox thought long and hard about a rematch, and decided that his legacy was worth more to him than the $20 M he turned down. I believe he knew that he probably couldn't win a rematch, as time had caught up with him.

Prime for prime, IMO, Lennox beats Vitali 7 or 8 times out of 10, maybe more. He was just better in the skills department.

I have Lennox as #3 or #4 in my alltime top ten heavyweight list, with neither Klitschko making that list, at least not yet.
