I don't know about 2 rds, i guess anything is possible, i do think that Lewis would KO him eventually, LEWIS DID NOT HAVE A GLASS CHIN, Enough with this bull****!, The man took on the best in his division which was MUCH better than Wlads division, only went down twice and came right back and won even more impressively except for mccall who nearly **** himself at the sight of lewis, he made the man cry in the ring for ****'s sake!, mccall wanted no parts of it and watch the rahman rematch, he was scared as well, now you tell me who has wlad imposed that kind of fear into??? Just compare their resumes...
You cant compare resumes, anybody who does that dont know **** about boxing, Lewis is the best heavyweight of the last 30 years, Wlad is the best heavyweight of probably the weakest heavyweight era in history.
Just reminds me of how ****ing boring all the heavyweight title bouts I have seen recently have been.
so if resumes are meaningless why keep track of who fighters have faced? why use it as a means to rank boxers? how do you come to the conclusion that lewis is the best heavyweight of the last 30 years ( I agree by the way) if its not by measuring him by the people he's faced?, My point of looking at the resumes was just to prove that lewis defeated BETTER opposition than Wlad, Do you really think that Wlad would have the resume that lewis has if they faced the same fighters??? I highly doubt it.
All of Wlad's losses were via stoppage, not KO, and none of them were the result of just a single shot.. Furthermore, they were left hooks, and not right hands that did most of the damage... I agree that Lewis would stop him at some point, but I doubt that it happens early... Wlad's boxing skills and athleticism are superior to any of the big men who Lewis dispatched, and frankly I don't think that he'd take any chances knowing full well who he was in the ring with...
Good post. Lewis was much too intelligent to go into an early all out war with an accomplished boxer like Wlad. Lewis underestimated Vitali, he would not have done the same with Wlad given Wlad's amateur background. Many idiots here on ESB assume Lennox was as dumb as most American HWs of the last 30 years. He was head and shoulders above all of them in both traditional education, strategy development and execution and ring intelligence.
I was actually referring to Wlad being the cautious one, but your points are still well taken... I don't think either one of them would under estimate the other, and in truth, I could see this bout shaping up to being more of a chess match, rather than a battle of balls and wills..... At the end of the day, I think Lennox gets the better of the contest, either by a late stoppage or comfortable decision... Without doing a long and extensive break down of their styles, I just think he was better all around....
Completely agree. If Wlad and Lennox climbed in the ring 10 times, I'd think a prime Lewis wins 6-7 out of the 10 matches.
What I meant was that you cant compare Wlads resume to Lennox Lewis resume (sorry if I wasnt more clear) that means Lennox resume shits all over Wlads.
Lewis was a monster, the only times he was beaten was because he was out of shape and not focused.. then he went back and beat them. Anyone who says he didn't have a good chin don't know ****, like i said.. in those fights he was out of shape, look at some other fights of a fully focused in shape Lewis taking bombs like they were nothing.
