Lennox Lewis v Rocky Marciano

    Rocky was incredibly tough, but he was easy to hit. And he was (by todays standards) a CW (as you rightly said).

    LL is a truly hideous match-up for Marciano. Rock's ONLY chance would be if Lewis took the fight lightly. Even then, Rocky has a very small punchers chance (literally, given how small he would be in comparison to LL).

    Fought during the time of Lewis' reign, a cuts stoppage relatively early (3rd-4th) would be how I see it ending.

    Fought during Rocky's reign, a 5th-6th round tko win for Lennox.

    A fearful Lennox (who was an absolute monster) would probably get Rocky out of there inside of 2-3 rounds (maybe even earlier).

    it's not just me who subscribes to this nonsense Angelo Dundee went on record time and again warning about "not putting too much stock in one round blow outs".

    Dundee described that often those fights could go the other way if one guy was a little more focussed or warmed up. He was not talking about
    Outclassed hopeless guys being overmatched.

    Now I accept all things not being equal in this matchup but it is a fantasy fight after all and as such both guys on their best ever night as well prepared as possible Angelo's point won't include a severely outclassed hopeless victim just one horrendously undersized well prepared great fighter against a larger one.

    Please don't associate yourself with Angelo Dundee, that is ridiculous. You are saying that ANYONE who predicts a first round knockout and gets it right is a "fluke" who is not employing "logic" in their 100% correct pick - and that anyone that scores one has achieved a fluke. Dundee is saying not to put too much stock in them, which I agree with.

    Yep, all good reasons why Lewis might not score a first round KO. If that's what we were talking about that post would matter. In fact, what we are talking about is your bizarre insistence that first round KOs are impossible to predict in real life, don't matter if they haven't been filmed and are never reasonable to predict in fantasy fights despite the fact that they occur in the real world.

    Extremely weird stuff, even for you.

    Lewis was 221 vs Mike Weaver, 224 vs Billups and 227 vs Ruddock. This is still sizable weight advantage but well under the 60lb you talk of which is later in Lewis's career. Seems a bit unfair to include Lewis at his most overweight girth to make the comparisons.


    yes it's a tough fight for Marvin and since he was never knocked out it would be unfair to call for a blow out inn Carlos favour.

    :lol: i've taken Lewis in his prime. Not "at his most overweight", but at his best. Lewis's best years were later in his career, post Steward beyond all hope of contradiction, and my pick for his best filmed performance is Rahman II. Therefore I select him at Rahman II. It's not a conspiracy.

    Yes, but as I pointed out to you in some detail, it's totally preposterous to try to make Hagler-DeLeon equivalent to Marciano-Lewis. Hagler-Holyfield is a far more reasonable comparison. I would pick Holyfield by brutal knockout, early, in the first four rounds I'd think.

    If Hagler was a pure swarmer, I'd go for KO1.

    It makes about as much sense as using Lewis in his eighteenth professional fight as the foil for how Lewis would do against Marciano in closing the gap.

    You lack reality Choklab,at the end of the day it is this....Marciano 5'9 68 inch reach and 185 vs 6'5 230/250 83/84 inch reach Lewis....the end! keep this up and you might as well be named "Choke" really all your replies are disproven and not in any way remote credible.

    He could easily add 20 -30 pounds to his frame. His short arms would help inside.

    well reality has it closer to 5'10 ,,,,whatever..he is under 6'0 and literally would have a bullseye with a Lewis,,,it doesn't go long ,any reasonable person who actually studies boxing would come to that conclusion!
