williams bouts, and machen.also check how he destroyed patterson twice, and yet tua almost got to lewis.
now be careful,i didn't say sonny was a defensive wizard, but he was better defensively than lennox.

Would that be the ATG that went down in one from a questionable punch?

Never seen you give LL a H2H head win - even against your boy Holy despite the facts.

Would be a hard fight - like prime LL TKO within 8.

    hehe,you said it yourself,it was a dive
now go check williams bouts and see sonny eating some big left hooks that didn't bother him,and than see lewis doing a chicken dance after briggs punched him with a half jab, half hook :hey

Liston is known as one of the hardest hitters ever, compared only to Foreman and Tyson.

and these people talking about the size of Lewis are the same people who say Wladimir Klitschko would be dominated by the old time heavyweights. :silly

I've seen these fights many, many years ago but I don't recall Liston being a defensive wizard.

It seems a little strange when you consider Liston learned to box in jail, while Lewis spend years and years as an amatuer and won two olympic metals, yet according to you his fundamentals aren't as good.

    I don't get it either.

What I don't also get is why this all conquering Liston lost more than Lewis, gave up twice, had his jaw broken and lost to a nobody - yet is seen as this ultimate badass.:nut

George Foreman freely admits that Liston had him going backward in sparring, and that he was intimidated by Liston's power and did NOT want to mix it up with him. He turned Foreman into a cutie boxer.

Also, Liston isn't an 'old timer' like so many in this thread want to think, it's not like he fought palms up, head up and back, windmilling 1930's style. He was a modern fighter in every sense of the word.

I don't think he would want to step in close enough. Lennox is no joke, I respect him and he's a very high quality HW, but you need speed and movement to deal with Liston, and neither of those are Lennox's strong points.
