There's already a thread on McCall.

Any more info on this or other similar situations?

It's a shame. I couldn't believe it when I was watching. Too bad we didn't get to see a brawl.

Golota has been blown out many times in the very early rounds. lidocaine had nothing to do with him doing what he did best when facing a top fighter.....losing.

Not true, Golota started in the early 90's and didn't get ko'd early until long past his prime in 2005, with exception of Lewis...Lewis was the who had been blown out early in his prime...

If you watched Bowe v Golota II and the amount of punishment he absorbed, you would know Lewis didn't hit him with anything that should have effected him the way it did...

Something was wrong with him that night, although the cause would appear to be his mental status judging from the mental melt downs in the two Bowe fights, the Sampson Pouah and Danell Nicholson fights, and later vs Michael Grant and Mike Tyson...

But, I remember the announcers commenting before the fight that something was very off with Golota and that he had even forgoten to bring his shoes to the fight....I never understood how his camp could let that happen in such a big fight...That night smelled fishy on multiple levels before the fight, during the fight, after the fight, and it still does today...

Reminds me a little of another mob enforcer turned boxer, Sonny Liston, when he fought Ali the 2nd time...

7:50 just one of the many examples, watch the whole fight...

The Lewis, Tyson and Brewster fights all look very similar. It must be Golota.

    False

    KO 1, 1997 Lweis
    TKO 2, 2000 Tyson (NC...as in quit like a *****)
    KO 2, Lamon Brewster 2005
    KO 1, Ray Austin 2008

    Against punchers he crumbled.

His punches did KO Golota, agreed...Those shots would ko most HW's...My point is Golota not being mentally prepared for that fight, his 'handlers' should be ashamed...The commentators were perplexed by their behavior before the fight...And ask yourself how many times Lewis rushed to jump on an opponent the second the opening bell rang in his entire career...It was odd...

But, I've already stated, he was a mental case in many fights before and after that...I take nothing away from Lewis on this, he was a warrior at heart and a smart fighter to boot...

Lewis feared for his nuts and got Golota out of there as quickly as possible, and that's it.

Samson Pouha, Tim Witherspoon, Corrie Sanders all wins...Riddick Bowe?

Tyson canned him on his ass and he got back up and appeared to be fine when he quit...

Golota was 37 in '05 and was 13 years and 44 fights into his career by the time he met Brewster...
