Lennox got to him very early and didn't give him a chance to even get going, just take a look at Golotas faace when getting up, he didn't know what day it was, the sheer look of shock on his face was like "What the fcuk happened then". All this BS that something was wrong with him my asre, there was only one thing all wrong for him that night, and his name was Lennox Lewis.
Exposed as a B class fighter, which was confirmed two years later vs Grant, that's what happened to him.
Oh for crying out loud. These are the facts: 1. Golota went into the fight with a knee injury and was given an illegal injection of lidocaine 2. Golota had a seizure as a result of the injection 15 minutes after the bout, stopped breathing, and had to be resuscitated. 3. Golota was fined $5,000 for allowing the injection. 4. Golota claimed the injection was without consent or knowledge of its content, and successfully sued the doctor for a million dollars. It's not an attack on Lennox Lewis to acknowledge the facts. Nor is it some conspiracy theory, it is well documented by mainstream news outlets.
Don't be a moron. Golota was fined for the injection and won a lawsuit against the doctor. It was covered by mainstream news and is a matter of record, it really happened.
Really? Andrew Golota knocked down Michael Grant twice. It was Golota who exposed Grant for the bust that "Big" was. Grant was never the same following his encounter with Andrew (just look at how he crumbled against Lewis immediately after). "Powerful Pole" exposed "Big's" chin (Golota was the first man to knock down Grant). The ONLY REASON Grant has an official recorded victory against Golota is because the Pole said "No Mas" to referee Randy Neumann because he (Andrew) believed he was trailing on the judges' scorecards.
Hi Guys I admire you knowledge and passion about boxing and Andrew especially. I only wonna add one fact that has no impact on Lewis fight. DEC-1999 Andrew had a car accident. As result his left hand is useless. You can watch his jab against Grant and Against Rhode and later. So, we cannot judge Andrew after that, his real left hand would smash Byrd and Ruiz at same time. Andrew with his jab was a complete boxer, without it he is just trying to mark the jab and hit with right.
I was not shocked. Like Hearns vs Duran or Shuler or anyone, if the right hand is in that range and can land with all that force without the opponent moving their head it will have an effect. The leverage is how that happens. With Bowe, the left hook was not as much in range as Lennox's right hand.
His jab wasn't his problem, his mind was always the problem. He didn't have the mental makeup to overcome adversity.
