Lennox has an average chin and has been known to be a hot and cold fighter. Furthermore, Sanders has a large edge in speed over him. Levi Billups, who gave Lennox considerable hassles, was blitzed in one by Sanders. As great as Lennox is, I say that Corrie has the ability to reach out and test that chin. When Sanders finally got a crack at real world-class fighters (Vitali, Wlad) he showed what he could do even at an age when most fighters are winding up their careers. Sanders even said before the Wlad fight, talking to Lewis, that Lennox had said that he and his camp had had "concerns" in fighting him. Now whether Lewis was being honest or whether he was trying to pump Sanders up for the Klitschko fight, is debatable, but I think such concerns would be well-founded. I'll take Sanders for the win, in another performance where he shows his class.
Corrie Sanders left hand came out of nowhere. Very lethal. He was able to shake up a prime Vitali. If he lands those same shots on Lennox ,well its good night!:deal
or maybe prime vitali wasn't all that enough to get shaken by a 38 year old retiree who never cut it himself when prime. credit due though vitali was certainly better h2h than waldo, he didn't go down in seconds to corrie, in fact he turned it round and beat the 38 year old.
Definitely would place my money on Lewis, but Sander's had the power to turn out Lennox's lights at any time.
I think against a fast and dangerous puncher at it's worst against the average version of Lewis it plays out like the Briggs fight. Lewis walks onto a left hand and is hurt early but has enough experience and ability to turn it around and KO Sanders. Though Sanders didn't have as good a chin as Briggs so gets stopped inside 3 instead of lasting to the 5th. A fully focused and determined Lewis who blew out Ruddock, Golota and Grant stops him even quicker, probably inside 2 rounds. The Lewis who fought McCall or showed up overweight, out of shape and unprepared against Rahman could get KO'ed. Lewis' biggest issue was his inconsistency at his best or even close to it he crushes Sanders at his worst he was capable of losing to much inferior fighters.
60/40 for Lewis. Lewis used Sanders name in the press for non-mandatory title defenses, but always selected easier marks.
