Good taste isn't enjoying beat downs of shot to bits old men. Thats called poor taste. Whats your second fav fight? Vitali vs Briggs ? atsch
Dude, you have no taste, please stop talking. If you can't appreciate an all time classic fight like that, just stop watching boxing. Braindead oldsock.
1 and it was a journeyman named ‘Greg Gorrell’ and Lewis stopped him, but had let him of the hook on several occasions prior to the stoppage, this was early on in Lewis’s career when he was still a prospect
Sanders(Rest in Peace) preys on opponents that take risks and leave themselves open, and he does so early in fights only. By round 6 onwards he quickly starts to run out of gas and slow down. Lewis is the worst style for Sanders(Rest in Peace). Lewis doesn't take risks, fights very intelligent and takes full advantage of his jab. Considering Sanders'(Rest in Peace) iron jaw, he would probably lose by UD in a one-sided affair. That said, there is no denying that Sanders(Rest in Peace) is a proven hero.
Lewis said he didn't like southpaws. An upset could happen. Team Tyson and Lewis often used Sanders name in the press was a possible opponent. It never happened.
Corrie Sanders could definitely beat the unmotivated Lewis that fought Rahman 1st time and Vitali but a focused Lewis would have to be the significant favorite. And tbh i see him handling Sanders like he handled Briggs (although more cautiously) It's the Klitschko fans that make Sanders out like this elite level monster but the truth is he's in the same bracket as Tua, Mercer, Moorer, Rahman, Povetkin, Lyle etc. A good world class fighter but will usually be the underdog against focused prime versions of elite fighters like Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Fury, Holmes, Bowe etc. although similar to Tua, Sanders has the unholy punching power to flip the fight on it's ass
I don't think he's even as good as Tua, Mercer, Moorer and an out of shape Rahman was able to beat an in shape Sanders in a close fight. Guys like this didn't lose to guys like Nate Tubbs in 2 rounds. I think he was a level below top contenders like Tua or champions like Moorer. Sanders was dangerous as hell early though, I'd put him more at the level of a Briggs, Shavers, Morrison. Dangerous and capable of the odd upset against top fighters but also capable of losing to guys nowhere near the top like we saw with Briggs vs Wilson, Morrison vs Bentt and Shavers vs a bunch of guys.
Let's have some quotes for that. Because in actual fact it's the exact opposite. Sanders had done hardly any sparring and no roadwork for that fight because his knees were shot. The post fight interviewer even brings that issue up. Rahman on the other hand was in peak condition and on a hot run. Moorer and Mercer both contrived to lose to ANCIENT versions of fighters Meanwhile in the real world we have a measuring stick: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
